now heres a question:

lets say u have a set diet plan.. if gains stop what do u change?

if u add more of anythign you will be up in cals but then that could lead to increase fat gain. Or do u just change the ratio of macros? more carbs less fat but try ot keep the cals the same?

thoughts???

Well this would depend on one's original macros...

If they weren't consuming many carbohydrates to start off with, perhaps a small 'refeed' would help bust through the plateau and restart the gains again.

However if carbohydrates have been plentiful throughout (minimum of 3g/kg/LBM) then I'd have to say increase the calories.

You could be quite specific with regards to timing of the extra calories, e.g. increasing pre/post workout nutrition initially, then breakfast etc. this might help prevent any fat gain but undoubtably it will all fall down to your client's response to a surplus of calories.

its basiclly a 1 : 1: 1 diet plan, with carbs being just slightly less.

Protein is given at 1.85 g / pound LBM

and carbs at 1.75 g / pound LBM... i just did the math by ur defination then the carbs are over the 3g/kg/LBM by about 50g

fat is equal to protein.

Thanks for the imput... and as far as where the cals should go.. so many options!!
