Ferulic Acid

  1. Ferulic Acid

In your Ergonine write up it says this:

    "Ferulic Acid
Athletix is bringing you a totally novel, human-proven compound: ferulic acid. Ferulic acid has been known, in the murine model, to jack up exercise capacity [29,30]. Just 30 mg Ferulic Acid a day in well-trained weightlifters is enough to significantly enhance muscle mass, increase strength, and improve recovery[31]. "

Reference 31 says this: Wolinsky, Ira. Nutrition in Exercise and Sport. Boca Raton: CRC, 1998. Print.

I cannot find this reference. Or at least when I find it, it does not appear to state anything about ferulic acid. Is there a synonym used or something? Thanks

"A little reading on ferulic acid, Section B of page 344 shows a reference of what just 30mg of Ferulic Acid can do in the period of 8 weeks in weightlifters http://books.google.com/books?****l6_...page&q&f=false. "

The original study is a print-only study. Here is the citation:

Effect of ferulate on strength and body composition of weightlifters
    LR Bucci, G Blackman, W Defoyd, R Kaufmann… - J Appl Sports Sci Res, 1990

The book link talks about the study: http://books.google.com/books?****l6_...page&q&f=false

    As does this study: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4164998/

" The usage of gamma oryzanol as a nutritional supplement for strength in athletes is prevalent. The research to date has tended to focus on gamma oryzanol effects in patients, especially hyperlipidemics, rather than on resistance athletes. Bucci et al found that the intake of 30 mg ferulic acid per day (extracted from gamma oryzanol) for eight weeks resulted in increasing body weight and muscular strength in weight lifters. "

"Results of the current study in terms of enhancing muscle strength were consistent with that of Bucci et al, as they found an increase in leg press by ingesting 30 mg of ferulic acid (a main ingredient of gamma oryzanol) for eight weeks."
