RPM Effects

Okay, just took RPM for the first few doses. 1st visit to the gym took one capsule lower then recommended per body weight. Workout went good but, didnt feel like I had the energy towards the end of my workout. Next workout took the suggested dose off bottle. Started out strong, and felt a light headed midway through my workout. No palpitations or anything else just light headed. Went on and off through the rest of the workout. Any suggestions? Also, my morning workout.... I like to go to the gym right upon awakining and not waiting for the hour for it to kick in. Any problems with emptying capsules into a liquid to aid quicker absorbtion? I've heard a lot of good stuff about RPM, just trying to find a way for it to work for me.

Noto - I've just received my RPM a week ago and I have also had some mixed results. I see a lot of people raving about it, many people say that it is a bit tricky to get the dosing correct. I still have high hopes for it...

I'm pretty sure he doesn't want to lose it. Also, the light-headed feeling is most likely hypoglycemia. Except for moderate, steady-state cardio, training should never be done on an empty stomach.

The light headedness came on in one of my afternoon workouts. I eat a lot and have a high metabolism, in no way do I think I'm undernourished. Normally I have used Vault (made by SAN) for my preworkout drink. This is still what I use in the morning, because it only takes 30 min or so to kick in. Not to mention, most of these supplements say take on an empty stomach 30-60 minutes before a workout.

You are probably running out of energy toward the end of your workout because you haven't eaten anything.

I've found that RPM still works fine if you eat a little when taking it. I sometimes eat a little 30 minutes before my workout, to have some carbs in me to allow me to push hard through the whole workout.

True, you take them on an empty stomach 30-60 minutes pre workout, but you then eat something pre-workout. even if its just a quick shake, or a piece of fruit (or the two together).

The emptying into liquid will work for taking it faster, just lower the dose significantly to start. so if you were taking 4 caps now, try that with just 2 the first time.

Icariin does reduce blood sugar levels. so whether you take it first thing in the morning, or in the afternoon, if you haven't eating an hour before you take it, and dont eat between then and workout time, you will go hypoglycemic. Maybe try taking in some gatorade as your peri-workout drink? or if you do bcaas, just throw a couple teaspoons of sugar in there.

You should do what I do man,

Take your morning dose, go to the gym (assuming you arrive about 45mins - 1 hour after you took your dose). And consume throughout your workout a light protein shake.

(20g protein - 220 cal +/- carbs).

Works great for me, plus I remember reading a study somewhere that consuming protein during your workout and after yeilds better gains than taking it after. Dont quote me on that though, as I cant find the study. Think the users gained an average of 1.5 lbs more over 2 months, than the post w/o only protein drinkers.

If you are doing short intense workouts & you train first thing in the morning you can get away with no carbs until post workout. I always have a whey protein shake mixed with water when I wake to stop catabolism then I train 1hr to 30mins later. Exercise and digestion require increased blood flow so trying to do both at the same time is a compromise IMHO. If you must eat before training keep it small. If you felt dizzy or light headed you were probably experiencing hypoglycemia so try a small snack or protein shake and see if that resolves your problem.
