Prohormone question

Hey guys

My name is Nathan and I'm new to this forum. I have a few questions and I'm sure I'll get bashed for asking them but I need answers. First off, I'm 19 years old and I've been lifting regularly since my sophomore year of high school for football. However, I haven't had much of a chance to lift recently now that I'm a college student with a part time job. But last week I started back into lifting and I'm really disappointed with the strength I lost over the past months. I've been researching some prohormones and I'm considering Halotest 25. I realize that prohormones are very dangerous and aren't intended for someone my age, but I see so many kids my age taking them with great results that I don't see why I shouldn't be doing the same. Someone give me some answers. How are these kids my age doing prohormones with such success? Why shouldn't I take one too?

And like I said I'm completely new to this forum so I apologize if this wasn't posted in the right place

Your to young you will damage your endocrine system. You don't want to be on TRT at 25 or need Viagra to get a hard on. That's what can very likely happen if you mess with anabolic's at your age. Do some research on this topic bro it's not worth it.

I know that it does do damage in the long run but it seems that so many kids my age are getting away with it unharmed, I'm tempted more and more to run a cycle. So even with a proper PCT it's still not safe to run just a 4 week cycle?

outrageous statements like this will only cause the kid to distrust good advice. he needs some truth, not patronizing fear mongering

he needs to leave the boards and see a counselor

Hello Nathan, I see a lot of youngsters (I am 46 anyone under 30 is a youngster to me) obviously running ph's or other as's. I cannot tell you I've never touched a PH, I have. I do try to stay natural 99% of the time, that is my personal choice. I get more personal satisfaction from my natural gains, but as I said I have garnered gains, though fleeting, the other way too. Pat is the expert, no doubt, I do however have a wealth of real world knowledge and I've gone through a lot. I won't try to scare you but I will advise caution, especially at your age. At 19 you most likely have the good old natural testosterone cranking. I made my best gains beteen 19 and 24 and I'd never touched any anabolic substance. I was 210 and ripped with no thermogenics no androgens hell creatine wasn't even around. I didn't even have a clue of how to work out nor was my diet good. Yet I grew, point of the matter is, that at your age you have so much natural potential why use a prohormone just yet? Almost three years ago I tore my left bicep off the bone. I had a complete distal tendon rupture. I was in a splint six weeks and a brace for three more months. My arm went into the splint at 18 inches and came out 13. I was not able(by order of the doctor) to lift more than 25 pounds with that side for another three months. 3 months after being turned loose my bicep was back to its normal size and strength. You may have lost a little strength but you will get it back. If that is the only reason you want to use a PH then its kind of overkill.

I believe that one should at least push their maximum physical potential before resorting to chemical assistance, if for nothing else than to prepare your tendons and ligaments for the rapid increases in muscle strength from the androgens as tendons and ligaments do not strengthen proportionately. I truly suggest that you hold off a few years, I understand looking around and seeing other people passing you up and knowing it is with chemical assistance, but that is just another case of keeping up with the Jonses, I am not the biggest guy in my gym, I am usually(thought not now) the most cut unless a show is coming up. I know what most of the guys are running and how much, I get asked a lot of questions on show prep and dieting and people break it all down to me. If I wanted to keep up with the beasts of the gym I could and I can easily acquire everything I need to do so. But I also know the costs. If I was intent on competing I'd do what it took to win. I have a type A personality and I hate to lose, that actually is an extreme understatement. But I am not competing. I evaluate the benefits against the risks and make my decisions that way. You have to do that too. I can give you advice all day long but the decision is ultimately yours.

Patrick mentioned counseling. Perhaps you have a body image issue and maybe counseling would be a better choice. I myself suffer from body Dysmorphic disorder and depression. They kind of feed off each other. Bodybuilding is a powerful tool against depression, don't let it be the source of other ills. So you do have an ethical choice to make. I feel my job is to give you supporting information and the benefit of my extra years. If you ever have any questions you need answers to without getting bashed just pm me. If I don't know the answers I have access to people that do. Good Luck

Truth or nothin, thanks a ton for your in depth advice. I am not depressed nor am I dissatisfied with my physical appearance, I definitely don't see counseling as an option because I'm not making a big deal out of this, I was just hoping to get some honest, realistic answers that would help me with my decision. For now, I'm going to stay away from PH's and see what my body's natural potential is. My dad is a pretty strong guy so I know that my genetics will allow me to get bigger and stronger. Maybe in the future I'll consider a PH but I still have plenty of potential to grow and get stronger as of now. Thanks again I appreciate the advice

Hey man I started juicing heavily at age 18. I know crazy, but the guys I hung with at the gym were older and all encouraged me to juice. I got big and I got strong and other than gyno I never experienced any damaging side effects. That being said, I did not juice or workout for six years and after a year back in the gym with good diet and hard work I am just as strong and in some lifts stronger than I was then.

Those sentences are the critical part, and where the issue lies. "taking them with great results" and "with such success" may be true from a short term strength or mass standpoint, but that doesn't make it true for long term gains, or for health. The main reason you shouldn't is that it can lead to issues. I can point you to at least 3 users here who are on TRT at 20-23 years old because of having done multiple cycles younger. Do most escape with limited long term issues? truthfully its hard to tell because the 18 year olds never get "before" bloodwork drawn so what any bloodwork later shows doesn't tell you a lot.

And as far as long term gains goes, most guys in that age bracket don't have as much of a grasp on nutrition as they think they do, or even on workout routine design. So its funny to watch, but you can see a few people who will end up running prohormone or steroid cycles 3x a year or more. They'll blow up and strength and mass will go up while on cycle, they'll lose a bit in PCT and then continue losing over the next month or two after PCT. Then they get depressed and run another cycle. And because the concentration hasn't been on either nailing diet down 100% or on working out how to deal with diet and workouts even with a chaotic life they keep repeating the same pattern. I'm not saying that will happen to you, just that it is a more significant risk than people think. And its part of what leads to the psychological addiction to prohormones/steroids.
The other thing thats even simpler though is that particularly first workout after a long time out of the gym your strength will be down. Give it a couple of weeks to two months, you should get back pretty close to where you were.

i think its smart for young people to hold back on having sex until they are more grown up. the younger generations dont know squat about the act of foreplay. U dont know how disheartening it is to hook up with an attractive younger woman and then trying to make out with her just to realize she already has my dick in her mouth

The big difference here PA as you well know is that using prohormones/steroids without knowing more has health risks with minimal long term results, the biggest risk in sucking at foreplay is that you don't get to screw the chick a 2nd time. And practice makes perfect with foreplay, but just taking prohormones/steroids over and over again doesn't make your body any better at using them.

If he hit a plateau at 17, her probably just needs to change his diet or workout

there's some much natural stuff out there, finding its the hard part, but it works. thats better gains anyway. get your like and lifting in order with the right supps and you will gain. i didnt use a pro till i was 23. had platoes when i was young but i pushed past them. make sure to eat a bunch of good food, not crap, learn to cook and you will get buff...Halotest25 sucks any way.

I used Methyl-Plex, Methyl-Drol, and Havoc several years ago (I was 23). Sure, I made some gains and the strength was there but it was the STUPIDEST thing I ever did. Not worth it. My hair thinned (still to this day). High BP. Very slight case of gyno (luckily it wasn't more). Libido changed for the worse on cycle and took time to recover. All this for what? Some muscle and strength.

Follow a good diet, take in a ton of protein, occasionally add some supps like a Test Booster (Bioforge), X-Factor, and UR Spray and with hard work, the results will be there. And you don't have to worry about any PCT and losing muscle afterwards. Prohormones are just stupid, but that's just me relating to my experiences.
