Thyroid Despair?

My Wife has recently had a series of blood tests done secondary to various multiple symptoms of feeling unwell. Her TSH levels came back high .... 46.8 as reported by her MD and she been prescribed Eltroxin with a series of blood tests to follow over the next 3 months. This is standard as far as I can understand so far. My question is.... 46.8...is this 4.68 actually depending on units? or is this truly 46!? as this number seems really high compared to those of normal range?
