I got lab results and test levels are mid 300s. To do self medicated TRT and get test levels around 900 and maintain that level what type of test, how often, and hoe much?
Same question with any axxy needed?
Same question with HCG?

6/10cc to 8/10cc . why would you need arimadex if you are within normal range? you can use HCG but it spikes estrogen levels in some guys.

It's different for everyone. I would start with 100mg of test cyp a week (2 injections @ 50mg) and retest levels after 5 or 6 weeks then adjust accordingly.

If you are 55 I am sure a Dr. would not mind prescribing it to you. Any reason you want to do it yourself?

Most docs won't get you over 700... my endo said that's where prostate problems begin.... I tweak my results by slacking off trt prior to labs.... and I get my adex and hcg elsewhere

cost mostly
my insurance will not pay for it
A bottle of testosterone cypionate costs $100 full price at the pharmacy,,, even at 200mg a week, which is almost double the normal trt dosage, it'll last you 10 weeks

my level has come in as high as 2200 day after injection, and my doctor hasn't changed it. Set to 150mg/wk

Sams club/Walmart sells 10ml vials for around $70. At normal TRT dosing, thats around 3 months worth, or $25ish a month.

Lol,, I did say most and not all.... you're supposed to get checked day before, not after your injection .... the idea is to have your lowest point within a normal range ....

my low morning of day of injection is around 850-900, which he doesn't mind so long as PSA stays stable.

You're lucky,,, my Endocrinologist is really good, but a bit conservative,,, I lucked out though,, the pharmacy gives me a full 10ml bottle of test cyp a month, even though I'm only prescribed 125mg a week....all I do is not dose for a week and a half before labs to keep my levels in range of her expectations then I can cruise at 300mg a week and blast at 600...... :)

I have to have a talk with my doc. my doc signed off on my physical and gave the OK for my TRT through a anti aging clinic last year. I have to see if he will just prescribe me what I need. He knows I have been low for years now. I rather go spend 70$ dollars at walmart then to pay this damn clinic again.

I need to find out if my insurance covers it. I don't want to go back to the gel. I hated the gel.

After making the switch to test cyp, I can't imagine why anyone would use a gel.... especially since i don't have to worry about my girl growing hair on her chest and my nine year old getting his growth stunted

mine is (medco)

well, thats who mine maill order is fulfilled through, I pay $25 every 3 months for 13 1ml vials of cyp. My doctor writes the script as a single 10ml vial, but medco persists in the pile of 1ml vials.

well, with the androgel 1.62% now you can apply in a good bit smaller area. the gels give your body a higher DHT conversion rate (injectible converts to DHT at a lower rate than natural, still not sure the reason) and much more normal through the day fluctuations of testosterone level. If you look at data, average young man with a testosterone of 800 at waking up is down below 600 by 3 in the afternoon. It could be significantly lower by bedtime, the studies were grouped oddly so its hard to really get anything super accurate from it (they tested during 4 hour blocks rather than every hour per person). I would have liked to have tried that for a bit, just to see if it felt any better.

Ohh sorry. I never saw 1cc vials before. I usually just get 5 10cc or 1ml vials per year. I wouldn't throw away that 1/4cc. give it to your dog or something!

What a waste,,, why wouldn't you just use it?
well, if you look at it, if I religiously drew remaining out, every 3 months i'd end up with 3 extra ml, so accumulating enough to do a serious blast would take forever. And running at 200mg/week ends up with my hematocrit rising above top of normal which my doctors don't like, as that was what I was doing at first.

Even if it isn't normally covered you can most likely get it covered. I switched insurance and they didn't cover any form of test. I had my doctor fax a "prior authorization" form to my insurance and got it approved the next day. $10 for 200mg/ml test cyp 10ml vial a month.

Lot of good advice in this thread. T-cyp (or test E) is the stuff, start with 50 mg E3D or 100/wk (most good docs will start you at this dosage anyway), any brand you get at the pharmacy will work just fine, injecting in quads is easier than injecting elsewhere, alternate sides with every shot, if you want advice on pins etc just ask. If you're not worried about fertility there's no need to do hCG, it just makes managing everything else more complicated. I've been on TRT for a year and it has been a very good experience, no complaints.

I have never needed an AI stronger than Erase, fwiw, and that only when I've messed with dosage/timing/etc and sent my E levels up. Most guys don't seem to need one at all once they get their levels up to a steady state.

My insurance sucks they will only pay for 2ml per month $15. The other 8 ml I can either buy or keep going to the drug store and hope they have some on hand.

10 ml a month almost equals 500mg a week,, the maximum allowed by law.... seriously doubt any normal doctor will prescribe that much

The prescription through my urologist is for a 10ml vial a month. It states that I'm to use .7ml weekly. Plenty of doctors prescribe the 10ml vials and I believe it costs the insurance company less than the multiple 1ml vials I would need for the month. They are trusting that you won't abuse it. The doc said each vial is good for a year so I'll have quite a collection in a few months.

If that's the case can't you get 2 1ml vials and have insurance cover your monthly presciption instead of paying extra for the other 8ml? It is hard to get 2 full 50mg doses out of each vial but I have done it.
