I have a question regarding the time between workouts. Say for example, I do 3x8 weighted pull ups at 9:00am at 80% of my 1 rep max. Then around 2:00pm, I do another set of 3x8 with the same weight. Then around 8pm, I do the same 3x8 with the same weight.

As far as hypertrophy and strength goes, does the body feel the cumulative effects of 9 sets and 72 reps and respond to that stimuli or does the lengthy break in between the workouts essentially nullify the previous workouts and thus at 8pm, the target muscles are only responding to is the last of 3x8?
