First off, big thanks to OL for the chance to log this tub of their brand new pre-workout drink. People have been saying good things, & this stuff ain't the cheapest, so this is an exciting opp!

Package showed up yesterday, & cracked the tub today for the maiden voyage. Holy cow this is a big tub btw! Here's what we're working with:

conquer profile.png

Pretty fat stack, as you can see - all business here. Initial impressions:

-Mixed up immediately in the 10oz of water I used, no weird smells or textures. Watermelon taste was perhaps the best watermelon-flavored supp I've ever had (and I'm not big on that flavor). Very good taste - not the most important thing, but nobody's gonna have to fight this down.

-Felt it going to work in 10 min or so. Not a huge torrent of energy, but my tolerance is on the high end lately & this was enough to get my tired ass in gear to go hit some iron. Energy all through the workout was solid, no jitters or discomfort.

-It was on the warmer end for the gym I used today (family healthclub that usually has AC in spades), but there's no denying I was sweating my ass off. More than the intensity/heat would otherwise dictate.

-Good intensity & strength, nothing felt out of place & workout was very solid. Enjoyable experience. Looking forward to tomorrow already.

Final Review

I'll make this short & sweet - Olympus Lab's Congu3r is a fantastic preWO. It's just plain good. Go buy some & try it; you can thank me later.

Energy 4/5 - Using 1 full scoop as per directions, energy is noticeable but not overwhelming. A noticeable tolerance to the AMP will be built in time though, so don't keep expecting the same kick in the pants if used routinely. But it will get you off of the couch & able to hit the iron after a long physical day at work, & that's numero uno.

Intensity 4/5 - Stuff seems to have a positive & noticeable effect on drive & mood. I really did want to Conqu3r when all the tired, sore parts of me were whining to just go home & quit.

Strength 4/5 - I used no other creatine or beta-al source over these last 7 wks, & power & strength have only gone up. I've also gained some bodyweight, so I can't attribute this all to Conqu3r certainly, but the fact remains this has been as good or better than any preWO I've used in this regard.

Pumps 3/5 - Nothing to write home about here, but good fullness and certainly nothing to be disappointed about. If you want maximum pumps, running vaso-constrictive stims is obviously going to be counter-productive, but this is a balance almost all preWOs must find. If you're serious about pumps, keep it to 6oz black coffee & run a bunch of nitrates w/ some gms, agmatine & creatine. If you want the added performance-enhancement of stims, you're going to sacrifice a bit of pump potential. As a strength athlete, this is so worth it.

Sides/Issues: You will sweat. More than usual. Every dose, for sure. No big, people just know you're working hard.

Overall 5/5 - How can it get 5/5 if none of the categories are 5 you ask? Because Conqu3r is brutally well-rounded. It's just great to use; over & over it continues to get the job done well. The sum is greater than the whole of its parts.

As for me, my training is primarily powerlifting-oriented atm. Diet is 2-300g pro/2-300g carbs/ 80-120 fats best guess right now. I adjust on feel, situation, needs, desires. It's not a beauty pageant for me, so this isn't a hardcore thing. I get 5-8 meals/day, usually 7 on wkdays (counting a couple shakes typically) every 2-3 hours.

Squat 424, Benched 248, & Deadlift 534 the previous weekend in competition (198 Modern Raw class, off any anabolics). Best Comp lifts are 463 squat, 281 bench & the 534 pull. I've locked out 567 but it wasn't clean enough for the judges.

Since I'm not preparing for a meet, the next month is going to be focused on general base-building & perhaps shedding a couple lbs for a float trip next month. Nothing radical, & nothing that should cause strength to nosedive. Good time to have a good preWO on hand ;)

Day 2

Daaaaaang - that was a fast turnout! Welcome everybody, awesome to have each of you along for the support :wavey:

Soooo forgot the blood donation truck was coming to work today. I don't really enjoy giving; I get really anxious & start sweating & getting all clammy. Then I feel weaksauce for a few hours while my booboo aches lol. But I figure if they want it bad enough to drive out to me, it must mean a lot to somebody who needs it, so I coughed up the goods :)

Unfortunately, that meant no lifting tonight

I got to install my dad's new stereo system & we went out for fried fish, so it was good times. Gotta get up early anyway to go help a buddy from work move his furniture into his new house - THEN it's time to lift some iron, finally!

Anyone following, I strongly encourage you to check this out - Conqu3r is our Deal of the Day at Orbit right now, stupid cheap sale price of $34.99/tub. Use code OLYMPUS15 for 15% off all OL products right now, or SOCIAL for 10% off an order of any products.

If you use the OL code, you can get Conqu3r for under 30 bux right now - after one use, I would advise you to go for it if you're on the fence about trying a tub. Watermelon is tasty tasty.

Fruit Punch - http://www.orbitnutrition.com/cart/olympus-labs-conqu3r-fruit-punch-20-servings.html

This is the best deal on Conqu3r I've seen yet, & I try to pay attention to all the other big retailers (I'm still a consumer too).

Day 4

Yesterday only had 40 min, so figured I'd just squat a little extra after my speed squat rather than barely having time to throw in 1-2 hastily performed accessories. Decided to lean on this little gem that's always stuck with me, for better or worse:

"It's accessory work. It doesn't ****ing matter." - Jim Wendler

Speed Squat 49x6, 6, 139x6, 189x3, 219x2 for 10 sets, 259x2, 279x2, 299x2, 319x2, 349x2
-all squats performed belted, touch & go to 1-2" below parallel box w/ Light bands for accomodating resistance (~98lbs+ at top)

Legpress 4pps x30

Felt very strong, fast, & tight the whole time & would have done another set or two but ran out of time. Guy had a few plates on the legpress sled as I was walking out so I hopped in & pushed a little blood.

Gonna go tie up some loose ends after another meal this afternoon. Traps, upper & lower back, hams, calves, maybe bis.

Sometimes I get my best workouts when it's a quick session. Little rest in between sets and major pump!

Dang man, that stings :headache: Haha none of that; we have a couple heavier, slightly thicker bars. I like to squat with the thick ones because it's easier on the back, but I'll switch the bars sometimes between sessions to dial in the weight percentage a little tighter (mainly on bench, which is so damn weak for me I can feel 4lbs difference). I try to OHP w/ the thicker bar too, a bit more like an axle press.

Tonight

Bbell Rows 135x15, 185x9, 205x6, 6, 185x7, 155x12, 10 (155 & down were strict, over that was NOT)
Widegrip Shrugs 135x20, 10, 225x20, 275x15, 315x15, 135x23
Back Extensions (w/ bar hanging at arm's length) BWx15, +45x12, 65x12, 85x10, 105x12
GHR off pulldown station 15, 12, 9, 10
Seated Leg Curls 50x75, 50
-ss w/ KB Swings 35x25, 25

GHR's done like the 2nd method (around 1:10):

They were freakin' TOUGH - def had to use some arms/abs to push off while contracting my hams to pull back up. I've used a real GHR machine one time, & I did a few without problem, but these were harder I think (weight was similar then to now). Didn't think I got much out of them, until it hit me tonight.

Really stretches you out good; my back got some pretty painful pumps after the weighted extensions before it, & the GHRs really relieved all the pressure/stretched everything out. Can't believe how big a difference they made. Worth your time, even though everybody in the gym will be watching you hanging off the pulldown station (which is VERY small to stay balanced on).

Day 5

Still liking the 5x5 on bench, feels good to get some volume on it & practice my tightness. Won't be lifting weds-sun prob while out of town for my buddy's wedding, so did a max effort exercise tonight AFTER the primary 5x5 to make tonight's heavy work last. 2-board would have been ideal, or even 1-board, but all I could find was the 3-board, so just worked my drive to lockout. All singles were paused.

Bench 45x5, 95x5, 135x5, 185x5, 215x5x5
3-board Press 235x1, 245x1, 255x1, 265x1, 275x1, 285x1, 295xBOMB (PR)
Incline Db Press 55x20x2 sets
Thickbar Tri Pressdown 30x50, 40x25, 25
Vogehlpohl Rows 80x15, 100x15, 120x15, 140x12, 160x8 (PRs)

Congrats on the PR big guy! I'm glad that's not a picture of you! I'm sure those guys can probably lift a house off its foundation but I simply can't stand that "super big belly, bloated" look. To me it projects the wrong strength message. IMHO

Thanks everybody - haven't had many new gym records since I came off last cycle; these last 3 months have been spent fighting & scrapping to get back to get back into the strength I had on cycle. But that's always how it goes, 2 steps forward, 1 step back.

Vogelpohl Rows are like this - picked em up when I was following the Cube Method (Brandon Lilly had trained w/ Chuck Vogelpohl for some time at Chuck's gym, Lexen Xtreme).
