It's basically very low grade protein made from a various animal sources...such ass hoofs, skin, connective tissue, etc. Look it up here, Collagen - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
It's pretty disgusting to think of ingesting it, but it's an ingredient in some protein bars...read the labels.
