Please bear with me as I try my best to explain what’s going on. I’m thinking it’s probably a common issue so that’s why I’m seeking advice here first before seeing ($$$$) an orthopedist.
At the bottom of Barbell/DB presses, not usually with a barbell but always using DBs, I experience a rather sharp, pulling(???), electric( like being hit with a taser) pain in my left shoulder. The location is kind of tricky to explain. It’s near the front of my middle dealt but more of an in between the front and middle and kind of near the upper portion of the bicep but not really (I know I know that was horrible but it’s all I got!)
It isn’t an excruciating pain and it goes away as soon as I stop the excercise. But man, when I get to the bottom and it happens, there’s no way I’m completing that rep, ever. I hardly ever feel the pain pressing a barbell except on flat bench and only then sometimes. All incline work is fine with a barbell. Zero issues. But flat bench (barbell/dumbbell) and incline(dumbbell) is where the issue occurs most frequently.
If it helps, I never experience the issue during overhead presses with either barbell or dumbbells.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
