World's 4th largest supplement manufacturer gets shut down... A MUST READ

At the end of April, the Australian TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) shut down Pan Pharmaceuticals the world's 4th largest manufacturer of dietary supplements. The TGA oversees the toughest regulatory environment in the world when it comes to the manufacture of dietary supplements. By comparison the US FDA is a benign industry friendly organization.

However, this event which has had a significant ripple affect throughout the world over the last 2 months is not as it is portrayed by the popular media. There are some sinister undertones which could affect consumers of health supplements worldwide. Take a little time to read an excellent article by Eve Hillary a medical reporter and researcher. These events may ultimately affect you. To access the article click here.

Warren Matthews comments: The shutting down of the facility was initiated through the inadequate blending of one of the pharmaceutical products produced by this company. The pharmaceutical products they produce represent only a very small proportion of their total business which is primarily dietary supplements. They supply almost 75% of the Australian market under hundreds of private label brands.

The TGA recalled all health supplements manufactured by Pan in spite of having no evidence that any of them were faulty in any way. It was a Class 1 recall which is normally limited to pharmaceutical drugs where deaths or substantial injury has occurred. When announcing the recall the medical director of the TGA advised publicly that citizens should refrain from taking any complimentary supplements and in the same sentence assured the public that all pharmaceuticals were safe and they should keep taking these.

Although these events do not affect us (Xtend-Life) directly, as we control all aspects of our manufacturing and procurement of raw ingredients, it will have a profound effect on many companies in the industry. Of even more concern to you as an individual it illustrates the influence of the major multi-national drug companies who are quietly but steadily eroding personal health freedom by exerting their influence at government level. I would urge you to read the article referred to above as this is a developing worldwide problem... not just one limited to Australia
