Is it ok to keep drinking Green Tea while in a surplus of calories?... Looking to get my bulk started mid-week when i hit my target cutting weight. Wednesday/Thursday by the trend of things.

I drink Green Tea atleast 5-6 cups per day at the moment. Dropped coffee just now to reduce caffeine intake a little.I have read alot of the benifits of Green Tea in general but one study showed it can inhibit Alpha Amylase? Ie breaking down starch's. No sure if this has any truth behind it as there are so many storys for supplements these days.

Any truth? Anyone just keep knocking them back during thier bulk and see no halt in progress?. My bulk also is going to be lean so no more than 300 calories above maintenance. I just want my body to absorb all of it.

My gut instinct is saying its just a myth or just seems to slow up insulin spikes?

Just keep drinking them?

Thanks

Yeah crack on drinking that good **** bro. The impact of green tea would be offset by your surplus anyway. IMO you just likely have a slightly higher set point (but who doesn’t love more calories to eat)

I don't see anything wrong if you want to drink green tea.

Hey, read this

"Green tea polyphenols inhibit testosterone production in rat Leydig cells" - pubmed

could not post links (missing post count)

take it with a grain of salt. (in vitro / rats)

cant give you an awnser you have to make your own opinion.
PS: i like drinking green tee :)

there is a lot more data on this.
here are the titles

Inhibition of aromatase activity by green tea extract catechins and their endocrinological effects of oral administration in rats

Chronic green tea consumption decreases body mass, induces aromatase expression, and changes proliferation and apoptosis in adult male rat adipose tissue

Selective inhibition of steroid 5 alpha-reductase isozymes by tea epicatechin-3-gallate and epigallocatechin-3-gallate

Structure-activity relationships for inhibition of human 5alpha-reductases by polyphenols.

Thiers loads of studys on it.. If it inhibits 5 alpha reductase then ideal.. Dht.. My hairs already dropping out lol

Im still drinking it as much. As for testosterone dropping? Highly doubt anything significant? I don't read studys on rats either.. Our bodys differ so much it can be the opposite for humans. If its a human based trial then yes i will take all the info in

I have read can’t remember what study but something about how egcg which is a cathechin in green tea makes your gh receptors more sensitive as in it sentisizes them to your gh pulses. Nice little stack would be melatonin mk677 and egcg pre bed
