To all the poor Yankees fans... nice payroll , ZERO ON RETURNS.. A-KNOB chokes again against the SOX..

:bow28:

Yeh, that was a nasty injury.. wrist bent right back and was flopping around..That guy was a rock... I am sure Steinbrenner is working the phones right now to trade for a outfielder..

Being a diehard sox fan myself there is nothing better than watching the redsox spank the yankees in new york......as always it was a great series....

Go twins! Just had to through that in since we beat the white sox 2 games so far, 2 more left. :) (had to hijack the thread for this, haha)

they got lucky! lol. yanks will take it in the end
Yankees havent taken it in a while.....so whats the point of the payroll than? lol Personally I dont like watching everyone hit homeruns, i like a one or two homerun hitters and the rest to be solid hitters that hit it around the field well. I also like a team that does well with a low budget, as in the twins :study: (I love getting into baseball and starting arguements)

ahh, the payroll remarks again.
It does become a lame argument after, what, 26 WSC's :)

Not-for-nothin', but, professional skilled workers base payroll in NYC is higher across the board than that of some city in BFE. NYC window washers, doormen, toll both clerks, and many other jobs are better payed than some degreed professionals in other cities acroos the country. Taxes are higher, cost of living is higher, housing is higher, etc., etc.. Everything in NYC is bigger and better. Especially the Yankees ;)

Don't hate the playa...:)

oh yeh... That is a great pitching staff they got this year ..

yeah randy johnson got hammered again yesterday...I love it.

I LOVE the payroll arguement about NY!!! Was it not TEXAS that started this whole sh*t giving A-ROD an *ss-load of cash??? But everyone wants to hate the Yanks. LOL. Keep it coming because hate=fear and the knowledge that they are the greatest team in the history of not only baseball but ALL sports.

Well the curse of the bambino arguement got real old too and the redsox did hand the yanks a whoopin in the last 4 games of the acls in 2004 giving the yankees another stat for the history books....the only team to get beat in a best of 7 series when up 3-0. I don't deny the yankees are a good team, but their arrogance breeds the hate they aquire from fans.

I agree, the biggest choke of all time in professional sports ever..and against their hated enemies... nice to clinch it in the bastards own house ... LONG LIVE THE RED SOX NATION !

I don't have a problem with the payroll, my point was for the money they spend, I dont think they are getting as much out of it as they should. Many other teams are very comparable or better in my book with a much lower payroll, that was my point. I wont disagree that the yankees have been one of the best teams ever, they just don't seem to pull through anymore.

On the other hand, I also think some teams should up their budget and stop being little *****es about it. Some teams just need to compete better instead of getting rid of their good players since they don't want to pay them anymore.

Inversely, my point, that 100k a year gets no more in NYC than 60k a year if BFE. Market and it's economics dictate the salaries. The salaries are commensurate with what the market and economics can bare. The salaries do not dictate the performance and or dividends of the investments.

No doubt! Big friggin' upset, for real! LOL. But who's arrogant? I just don't see it. I don't think Torre or Cashman would stand for it. Plus, whenever a Red Sock is being courted by the Yanks, you hear how all of their talk is mostly out of jealousy. I'm not surprised.

Well I can tell you this. The yankees spring training at legends field is right down the street from the hospital I work at, so whenever one of them gets hurt they come in. I've met giambi and posada that way.....I will say they were cool, but steinbrenner also frequents visits....you wanna talk about arrogant and condescending. The guy is a complete a-hole and I've witnessed him completely degrade healthcare staff who were doing their best and couldn't have been kinder to him. I guess my personal experience dictates the way I feel though. I do agree I don't think torre is in form though.

How did the final game turn out I missed it?

CROWLER

assuming you mean NYY vs. BOS, boston won by a couple runs i believe, can't remember specifics. double whammy in the first, matsui fvcked up his wrist and will most likely be out for the season.

From today’s Daily Quickie on ESPN.com:

Hello, my name is Carl Pavano. I used to play baseball (my last appearance was 6/27/05) and date Alyssa Milano. Now, I'm pitching one inning of Double-A ball before leaving with tightness in my arm. For those keeping score at home, the Yanks paid $40 million for: a bad rotator cuff, back problems and a bruised butt cheek. :nutkick:

We will see how long they can go with Damon playing with that broken bone in his foot.. :rasp:
I still respect damon alot even though he's a yankee now...... I still have one of his bosox team jersey's. After all his grand slam in game 7 of the alcs put the yankees away, ahh fond memories :D

ortiz had me scared. bases loaded, fvck.

i tell ya, jeter is the best damn SS i've ever seen. he's like a fuggin rubber band.

I'll give ya that he's the best shortstop in the game, but I still despise him :D Dave's been in a little slump as of late, but you gotta love those situations for players like that. God I love manny though.....not the greatest left fielder, but damn the guy can hit.

Yeh, Big Pappi is slumping right now... 4 k's last night...going down looking with bases loaded.. aarrggghhhhhh

manny has been on fire lately. i'm just glad manny didn't get a chance with bases loaded, could've easily been a different turnout.

on a side note, i found this funny and so will you boston fans:
on howard stern show yesterday, some fetish porn chick came into the show. she explained her fetish was to be choked during intercourse and that her name in the movies was paris. to which artie lang replied "if you're known for choking, you should call yourself A-rod."

It is amazing how the Yankees are still there with all the injuries ... Just goes to show you how good a manager Joe Torre is.. and nice A-ROD crack...

Lol, that was great beelze. yeah I will give the yankees credit for hangin in with their injuries, but big papi needs to wake up and start seeing the ball again

If there is a bright so far in this series , it's that the rookie looked pretty good last night... 2 more games to go kids :afro:

Man, what is it about playing the Sox that just makes A-ROD look so bad... I mean he plays outstanding against other teams ..But put the Sox out there and he plays horrible..

didn't get to watch the game, but saw highlights of his f-ups. you're right - against boston, he blows. maybe it's karma for trying to slap that ball out of that dudes glove in '03 world series, lol.

Well I would not believe it if I didn't see it with my own eyes, A-Rod finally came through in a clutch situation.. and it kinda felt bad seeing Pedro geting hammered by his old teamates..
Are there any teams in the N.L. that can go against any A.L. leading team and win ... does not look good for the NL.
