Question about ZMA and creatine.

Hi everyone!
I would like to take ZMA and creatine and I have just a few questions.

I'm looking for ZMA with magnesium bisglycinate but it's hard to find 😅 Would you have a good brand to recommend?

Still on the subject of ZMA, I've been told that it's not a good idea to mix magnesium and Zin because when taken at the same time they cancel each other out 🤔 myth or reality in your opinion?

Hi, welcome to AM.

The reason that you generally will see the magnesium form as aspartate is because the ZMA studies were done on that form, so to quote them or use any of that data, companies would be supposed to use the same form.

Also, the amount of Magnesium that is typically in a ZMA supplement is 450 mg. Magnesium Bisglycinate Chelate is between 10% and 18% Magnesium, so that means that even if they went with the high yield 18%, that would be 2,500 mg. of Magnesium Bisglycinate Chelate that would have to be used to provide the 450 mg. of actual Magnesium.

The typical ZMA supplement is 3 capsules.
The maximum volume of 3 size 00 capsules is 2100 to 2250 mg.

So, if the brand uses 450 mg. active Magnesium from 2,500 mg. Magnesium Bisglycinate Chelate, that would require more than 3 capsules for just that one ingredient.

I like Magnesium Bisglycinate Chelate myself, but think of it more for hydration purposes than the form I would want to use before bedtime. Not saying that it would be bad to use before bedtime, but isn't the most feasible for a ZMA supplement.

The only one I know of is by Allmax (called ZMX) but it uses both magnesium bisglycinate and citrate.

i have not tried the bisglycinate .. ive only done Aspartate in a zma complex

usually my go to product for $14 - 60 servings

i didnt see the creatine question .. but ive taken all forms of creatine with zma :)

Just go to DPS nutrition Take the ZMA and MCC Creatine by SNS. It’s ZMA you are thinking to much into it , different mag ain’t going to really make any difference. Really going to make no difference at all lol
