I guess I'll start it off with an awesome chili recipe I have used several times over the years. Best chili ever. Note: You need a crockpot for this recipe.
-1lb lean ground beef
-1lb lean ground turkey
-1/2 tsp. chili powder (or to taste)
-1/4 tsp. ground cumin
-1 large onion, diced
-4 cloves garlic or 4 tsp. garlic in a jar, chopped or minced
-2 15 oz. cans of low sodium tomato sauce
-15 1/2 oz. can of turkey chili with beans
-6 oz can of tomato paste
-16 oz can of red kidney beans
-No-Salt brand seasoning (optional/to taste)
-Black pepper (optional/to taste)
-Tabasco sauce (optional/to taste)
-Garlic flavored nonstick cooking spray
Cook ground beef and turkey in a skillet along with the chili powder and cumin until brown and crumbled. Spray empty skillet with cooking spray and saute onion and garlic until tender. Place meat and vegetables in a prehated crockpot set on high. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, and turkey chili w/beans. Simmer 20 minutes. Add kidney beans and additional seasonings (optional) to crockpot. Simmer 20 more minutes. For best results, set crockpot on low and instead simmer for several hours. You will have better flavor this way. Makes about 6 servings.
