I originally posted this on BB.com but did not get much of a response. I thought I'd post this here and see what your thoughts are.
I have been planning/tweaking my diet.
What I found was one scoop of protein from one brand has a different amount of protein from another brand so I decided to do some comparisons.
What I found was a HUGE variation. One scoop of one brand lists as high as 27.5g of protein while another brand lists as low as 13g!
And they all use the size scoops! All use 70cc scoops except for ProBlend-55 which uses 90cc scoops.
All comparisons are done among "pure protein" powders only.
Here is I found:
HDT ProBlend-55:
2 scoops (70g)
Protein - 55g
Scoop size - 90cc
(1 scoop = 27.5g protein out of a 90cc scoop)
Optimum Pro Complex:
2 scoops (70g)
Protein - 55g
Scoop size - 70cc
(1 scoop = 27.5g protein out of a 70cc scoop)
ISS Research Pro M3:
3 scoops (67g) --------> 1 scoop = 22.3g
Protein - 50g
Scoop size 70cc
(1 scoop = 16.6g protein out of a 70cc scoop)
Biotest Grow:
1 scoop (28.5g)
Protein - 20g
Scoop size 70cc
Optimum 100% Whey:
1 scoop (29.4g)
Protein - 22g
Scoop size - 70cc
Scitec Protein Delite:
1 scoop (20g)
Protein - 13g
Scoop size - 70cc (not 100% sure because I lost the scooper)
1 scoop servings:
The difference in protein between Boitest Grow and Optimum 100% Whey is small (20g vs. 22g) and could be due to due to the kinds of protein (casein vs. whey) but why does one 70cc scoop list 29.4g and another 28.5g? Look at Scitec - one scoop is only 20g!
55g proteins (2-scoop servings):
I feel that ProBlend-55 and ProComplex are both "identical" competitors- 55g per 2-scoop serving but ProBlend-55 uses a 90cc scoop and Pro Complex only uses a 70cc scoop!
Extreme comparisons:
If you compare Pro Complex with Protein Delite, one 70cc scoop of Pro Complex provides 27.5g of protein while one 70cc scoop of Protein Delite only provides 13g of protein! That is less than half the protein!
What the ****???
