I used to train THE big 3 alot in the past.
But 10years of jiu jitsu has made my back and hips old fast.
Ive straightened out most issues but i still have issues with regular deadlifts(sumo is better but still meh)
However i can work trapbar deadlifts and split squats hard.
Then i try to make up the lack of posterior chain work with other stuff.
However ive read and noticed myself that i can handle alot higher volumes with the trapbar compared to regular deadlifts.
Even when i was able to deadlift and squat heavy i Always pushed intensity on deadlift and volume om squat.
I was just able to squat alot more orten and more without getting smoked.
However with deadlifts even 5x5 felt like way to many lifts on a fixed number.
So what im asking is how many reps over lets say 80% of 1rm is reasonable?
What ive done atm is working up to 3x3 on a heavish weight, then i strip 10% and do 2x5reps.
But i feel i could probably do way more volume.
Maybe i will try a volume block when i plataue on 3x3.
