I have bad acne from my last cycle on my back and shoulders and some on my face. I have seen on IBE's website that they sell a retin-a creme! Do any of you have any experience on this creme using it for your acne? how well does it work? thanks!

I've never used their cream, only the prescription clear gel. I guess if I need a refill this would be the way to go. If anyone has used both would you recommend one over the other?

they only have the gel and it is better over the cream with a script as the dexpanthenol gel helps greatly with reducing scars

thanks bryan.. I'm also introducing 1-2 grams of b-5 daily now as i hear that b-5 will also help with the acne. I'll order some retin-a soon. How long does it take before you started noticing your acne clearing up? I'm also tanning so that should help as well.

I've used it as well. The .1% stuff is very potent and works well for tough back and shoulder acne. Packaging is a little blah but overall a great product.

Bio, do you think that it would help with stretch marks? I know the retin-a is good for the skin and was wondering if it could be used for this purpose?

I have heard the same and tryed it on some stretch marks to see if it will work and the reality is it wont srry

It might reduce them a little but you looking at over 1 yrs time to become less pronounced.

I used the IBE Retin, and my skin couldnt handle it. I used it daily for about a week and a half before the sides got to be to severe so I reduced to every other day, then every three days, and now I havent used it for about 10 days. I never noticed much acne reduction, I have actually notice more of a reduction since ceasing, but mine was pretty bad when I started, I hadnt even been on cycle for about 9 weeks, so this was my natural acne. my chest was/is the worst, my neck and back arent great either, my face isnt as bad but still not as good as Id like. I could tell the retin was doing something, I just couldnt stick it out long enough to see real benefits. My skin would get so itchy, red and dry that it became painful, it was kind of like if crossed sunburn with poison oak to make a new type of skin irritation! And my ball sack..Invalid Link Removed...oooohhhh my god! I didnt even apply any there (why would I, who gets acne on their nuts?) But somehow it got so sensitive that just the friction from walking made them all red and irritated to the point of pain, and it was bad enough that I couldnt just ignore it. I was walking with my knees flayed out to the sides to prevent friction. LOLOL! And even on other parts of my face that I never applied any to like right by my eye lid got so dried up that the skin cracked and it was like a cut. Anyway the itching and inflammation was just unbearable, and when your not seeing improvement on a par with the side effects your enduring, its easy to get discouraged. I think Im a somewhat unique case, and will probably seek the help of a dermatologist.

Red, dry, irritated skin is quite common with RetinA. Just part of the process as your top layer of skin is chemically stripped during the first 2-3 weeks of use. Also very common for acne to get worse during this period before it starts improving.

You should expect results after 4 weeks of consistent application.

I had some of the same side but started applying a moisturizer and it helped a ton and I'd decrease the amount I'd put on also.

Give it a try to see if that helps.

Yes they are common sides but applying lotion takes care of this. Your skin will peel alot until you become accustomed to it. I had the ball problem as well but again lotion took care of it.

I really feel that maybe I touched my face and then scratched my balls or something and it transfered.

But the product works really well and after a certain time starts clearing up the majority or your acne problem with outbreaks only everyso often.

Thanks Bryan. I guess I'll go with the cocoa butter/vitamin e stick that i have now.

Another part of the problem maybe that the .1% gel is about the strongest solution you can get. If you are peeling that badly from it you can use a .025% gel to lessen the sides. As others stated you definitely have to moisturize frequently and space out the applications.

The stuff takes a good long time to really be effective. For acne reduction you're looking at 4-6 months of continuous use and a year or more for scar reduction. It's a pain, that's why most people opt for Accutane.

Any specific type of moisturizer I should use?I had this one kind (Lubriderm) it helped with the painful soreness especially on the balls but didnt do much to ease the itchy irritation on my chest and neck for some reason. Was the type you used OTC?

I don't have the name of it. A friend gave me some in a container after I told her about the irritation of using the retin A. I'll ask her and find out what the name is, but I'm thinking any type of moisturizer would probably do.

Heads up:
You want a moisturizer that really works, ask a pharmacist for Amlactin. It's an otc former prescription cream moisturizer, about $10-$13 a tube and you will feel it working. Your skin may actually feel like it's burning for a second if it is very dry when you first apply it. That just tells you it's working. Any (American) pharmacy should have this behind the counter.
