High dose Trt, is it sustainable in the long run for health and growth.

I had started trt on 130mg per week for treatment of low t. 70hr weeks for years and bad habits burnt me out. While it made me feel great, i know a few guys at my gym who run 200+ a week with great results. I know its not a blast cruise run like most do, im more interested in long term gains an d goals as i wont be coming off trt unto i croak. Anyone had success running 200mg or more as a base line cruise?

or am i being naive and over thinking this and should i just up the dose.
Im 6'3 300lbs, had a belly but in my leanest playing ruby i was still about 285lbs. or does weight not influence test you need?

either way some advice for a beginner would be appreciated.

cheers men

I think some people cruise at 200. you'll have more chance for sides the higher you dose. being 300lbs, how are your lipids? don't give yourself a heart attack

I think a lot of people forget what TRT means (and Is).

Testosterone
REPLACEMENT
Therapy

That means it is meant to Replace the natural Testosterone in your body, if it is deficient.

If you're using it like a cycle, but calling it TRT, it is still a cycle.

Exactly, you’re trying to get your levels back to a healthy in range level. If 130 mg achieved that for you, then your TRT has been a success, but the only true way to know is blood work. At 125 mg a week that has me at 850 on my testosterone, before that it was 360, so it has been a major improvement. The only time I increase my test dose is on a cycle, about once a year with maybe some Primo or Mast. Now at my age I’m more concerned with keeping my health markers in range and staying healthy. On those cycles everything stays in a healthy range, and I enjoy a good cycle about once a year, usually before Summer. 😎
I would get blood work and post it here, to just see where your at before making any changes.

Only bloods can say. Size has no indication of how you will metabolize testosterone. Some guys need 200mg to stay in normal total and free test ranges. Most need something more like 100-140mg/wk. It is common for bodybuilders/strength athletes to cruise higher to retain more muscle & strength between blast, but they are never operating in physiological ranges and that is not the safest longterm play.

120mg/wk of test e split into 2 shots and 200mg l-carnitine/day on 4-5 days per week has my total t out of range already at over 1,050ng/dl total test, and everything feels STRONG. Libido & sexual function are good, minimal to zero AI needed, recovery and gym performance are solid, positive mood. I probably need to be on 100mg/wk if I was trying to work with a TRT doctor and concerned with optimal health.

Get bloods, see where you are at, raise the dose and recheck bloods in 3 months. If things are still in range, pull again in 3 months. I mean total and free test can be high, but if blood, organ & lipid markers are in range as well as blood pressure then that is what needs to happen to be tolerable longterm.

I also wouldn’t want to be supplementing with UGL gear indefinitely. You would want pharma gear, ideally from your actual TRT doctor with the script, to avoid excessive heavy metal intake over years.

Bloodwork is important but isn't always definitive that you are healthy. 300lbs is 300lbs. I'd get cardiac scans and calcium scores done yearly. The lower the dose that you can achieve gains/goals with the better.

Like everyone said, true TRT is just to keep you in healthy ranges, around 600-1000 but it’s not uncommon that ppl run it way higher, it might come with sides though. My dad said he used to run 500mg of Test ew for years without issues and another guy I know says he do 300mg ew, but everyone might not be as lucky as they are…

All good points here. Living at a high bodyweight is way more detrimental than the mg of gear typically.

I mean a guy that constantly stays smaller & truly lean with good insulin sensitivity and a tight diet & serious cardio religiously will probably last much longer than someone using less but everything else is suboptimal (high weight, poor sleep/no CPAP if needed, sedentary, lousy diet).

Bloods will tell you but also need to gage how you feel. My trt dose from my doc is for 200mg. I blast and cruise though and will sometimes cruise on 250mg a week injecting every 3.5 days. Puts my test at 550 right before my next pin. On 750 mg test I’m at 3000.

blood work is fine, im pretty solid due to years playing rugby and lifting. have a bit of a belly due to low t storing body fat there but im lean everywhere else.

im sitting about 18% BF, so have about 25lbs i can lose easy enough but am pretty solid. Even at my leanest I was about 270lbs, I have a very dense and large frame. Ive been training hard again the past year and put on some beef but following advice and blood work have jumped onto test, my sleep , strength and body comp is skyrocketting. I just want real world advice from those who are experienced with actually taking T on varying levels and successes. Here in the UK its almost impossible to get TRT via your doc. Hence using online private blood work and experienced forums like this for actual knowledge form experience.

I've been on 200mg/week for about a year and a half, and wouldn't call 200 "high dose". I know a father and a son who are on trt. The father is on 200mg per week, and his total t is lower than the son who is on 125 per week. My total T on 200 is about 1250ng/dl, free T is about 235. 200mg/wk might give you gains initially, but your body is smart, and will equalize itself via cortisol, androgen receptor desensitization, by raising myostatin, and probably half a dozen other mechanisms we haven't even discovered yet.

To realize significant gains over time you have to cycle imo. Your cruise sets the baseline imo. So before a cycle I'll actually reduce my cruise to maybe 180mg/wk for a few weeks. When it's grow time again I'll do something like 300-400 test, 150-200 tren, with 20-30mg mk677 sprinkled on top. Conservative cycle, run for 8 weeks max, then I'll cruise for 4 to 6 weeks, then repeat. I like to change up the "extras" every cycle, and keep doses on the conservative side, but I'm also a geezer. At these doses, my sides are very minimal, and easily tolerable.

EDIT: I just re-read your post and saw that you're 300lbs. Disregard all my cycling anecdote until you get your weight down, and get your heart and blood pressure in order. And no, blood pressure meds, cholesterol meds, etc. don't count. You need to have some breathing room before you start running anabolics that negatively impact blood pressure, cholesterol, and increase resting heart rate. Shoot for a body fat of 16ish%. What's your current bodyfat? I'm guessing somewhere around 30%. Don't shoot for 285 as your "leanest." If you're leanest was fat, that's still not lean.

Man if you are killing it at your current TRT dose I really wouldn’t change a thing right now. Most would be so lucky to be making progress.

200 at my peak I'm approximately 1000-1100
When I give blood I wait so there is 5-7 days since shot. That puts me in high 300 low 400's I don't care to keep levels consistent with 2 shots.

Lol at 750 I posted a 4200

With 200mg per week when your peak level is at 1000-1100? day after injection? and goes down to 300 only 5days later? That’s unusual and quick if it’s test C or E. what ester are you using?

Also depends on where he puts the oil, the carrier oil & volume of the shot, & how fast he metabolizes the drug of course.

I always check values at trough though, not peak.

Good morning
Test c, when I first started using test under a dr I mistakenly injected a day or two prior to bloods. That was my number
I try to have 7 days till I give blood.

No matter what it seems I always bottom out at 350-400. Recently took 4-5 weeks off during Christmas (flu or covid) I was at 380 something.

Been using abusing gear for 20 years.
Last 4 or 5 I have learned (ty am group)
How to use in the safest manner.

I hit the outside of my glute hip area.
