Farro recipes?

First off: is farro like quinoa and a pseudo-grain or is it truly a grain? I've been trying to cut grains from my diet but potatoes get boring and I bloat on yams.

Quinoa is listed as a grain but more closely related to tumbleweed. I was wondering if farro stands here, too?

Either way I bought a pound. Now what can I do with it?
