I would recommend a combination of cissus and devils claw powder. I treated foot pain (plantar fasciitis) with 1.5 teaspoons of a 50/50 cissus/devils claw powder mix, 30 mins before meals. Cleared it up in less than 2 weeks which I'm told is quite fast for that type of problem.
Once she gets her pain sorted out it is well worth looking into technique and ways to prevent further injury. I did, and found out about the Pose method of running. No running related injuries since I made the switch a year ago.
