Here is why I’m asking for your feedback. I’m a big believer in intra workout aminos and carbs. I’m currently taking 20 grams of HBCD (Cluster Dextrin®) with an EAA profile of:

Leucine 3,500mg
Phenylalanine 1,400mg
Lysine 1,200mg
Valine 1,000mg
Threonine 1,000mg
Isoleucine 800mg
Histidine 800mg
Methionine 300mg
Tryptophan 50mg

I sip on this durning my workouts and eat a healthy balanced/protein rich diet. I don’t take any protein powders. This combination has served me well for years but recently I’ve been hearing more about Carb10™ & ModCarb™.
My question is, has anyone tried Carb10™ or ModCarb™ and how do you like them in comparison to each other and compared to Cluster Dextrin®?
If I’m understanding correctly, Carb10™ & ModCarb™ have a lower osmolarity then HBCD and also cause less of an insulin spike.
Any personal experience with these two would be appreciated as I am trying to figure out what type of carb source is best for my intra workout mix. Thanks in advance for any feed back or info.

Honestly if it’s working I wouldn’t change it!

I don’t know a ton about ModCarb it always seemed more MRP carb source than during, so I didn’t research it much but I do see it’s in the new Intracell so I could be wrong.

Personally I like Carb10 with my EAAs during training. Depending on length and volume in session I may mix it with extra dextrose, but in my experiences I’ve enjoyed it more than HBCD. I get a good sustained energy through training with not much of a wall or crash.

Again if what you are doing is working I don’t think a switch would cause a huge change and these fancy carbs aren’t going to be major deal breakers for most people, but with that said if you do want to try something else I’d vouch for Carb10.

Thanks! I just picked up some Carb10™ and will give it a try in place of Cluster Dextrin®. Will post back if I notice a difference or not.
