An update on my HRT

Well, it's been a little bit of a roller coaster ride.. I started on June 1st. I've been very consistent with the Somatotropin at 1.5iu daily (with a day or two off every so often). The Sustanon-250 hasn't been so consistent. I started off at 1cc per week but quickly moved to 2cc (1cc Monday and 1cc Thursday).

After about 4 weeks, I had to take a flight to New York and, even though I had a prescription, I didn't want to take needles and steroids onboard with me. It was a last-minute flight, things were hectic - I didn't realize that I didn't necessarily need to take the pins with me... I just felt I'd be better safe than sorry..

So.. When I got back, I was about 2 weeks late for my dose. I took 1 cc, waited about two weeks and took another 1 cc. So it's been a bit of a mess..

I don't feel like I'm on an emotional roller coaster. My "boys" haven't shrunk. I felt good in the gym but Sustanon is supposed to take about 4 weeks to start working and that's about when I stopped using it. Libido has been excellent since the 4th week - even with the crazy dosing as of late.

Altogether, I feel a bit less tired during the day. I feel pretty good. So far so good..

I just put in for another order.. $970 gets me, this time:

10ml of Testosterone Cipionate at 300mg per ml
30ml (30i.u.) of Somatotropin (3 months worth)
75 pins
...and I still have 8ml left of Sustanon-250...

Oh, I forgot to mention that I have Plenty of acne on my shoulders and neck. I've got it basically taken care of on my neck - now I just need to get my shoulders in check.. Using lots of Stridex pads did the trick for my next.. I just started using an overnight cream for my shoulders a couple of nights ago...

Oh 2: The Sequel.. I also forgot to mention that I've dropped 10% in bodyfat without dieting and very little training (with all the traveling)...

Hmm.. Interesting.. I received my order today.. It's a little more than I had expected, actually.. This is supposed to last me 10-12 weeks:

30ml of Testosterone Cypionate at 300mg per ml
30ml (30i.u.) of Somatotropin (3 months worth)
75 pins
...and I still have 8ml left of Sustanon-250...

Injection site sore 5 days later...

Well, this was my first shot of cypionate. 1cc is 300mg worth - so I'm guessing this is why I'm still sore 5 days later.. Not very sore, just sore enough to be like - WTF... I'm guessing this isn't too out of the ordinary. No redness at all. It does feel like the oil is still "in there".. It's been about 3 weeks since I injected in the same spot..

I'm planning on doing delts for my next shot.. If I'm still feeling this tightness 5 days later in my quad - would it be a bad idea to try my deltoid? I mean, does 300mg/1cc sound like too much for a rookie delt shot?

Re: Injection site sore 5 days later...

It depends how big your delts are. Ive done 2.5CC in my delts before and they arent all that big.

Re: Injection site sore 5 days later...

Since getting opinions around here is like pulling teeth, I'm giving you rep just for replying. Heck, it's the least I can do - it must have been very painful...

Re: Injection site sore 5 days later...

Here is an opinion...rep free.

Is this for cycle or HRT?

My guess is, if it is HRT, you are dosing E2W or E3W. Have you considered splitting it to weekly. Have you considered splitting in into two (150/150) bilaterals E2W or E3W.

If you are cycling have you considered going bilateral (150/150).

Re: Injection site sore 5 days later...

You'll be fine. Might be high in BA, the needle may have moved around a bit disturbing tissue surrounding the injection site. REgardless you should be fine, it take a few shots for your body to get used to the procedure.

Re: Injection site sore 5 days later...

Thank you. This is for HRT but I seem to be on a pretty high dose.. I'm actually injecting every week. It's 300mg in 1cc so I'm guessing there's enough BA in there to make the actual dose about 200mg of cypionate.. Personally, one injection per week is enough for me.. I did two per week with Sustanon and I don't like it. It seems that you can never be careful enough - and a little like Russian Roulette... I mean, at some point, I've got to screw up and get an infection no matter how hard I try to be perfect...

The bilateral idea is good but that brings me to the two injections again. I suppose if I'm doing this for a long time and I really get confident about injecting, I could do this..

For now, I'm on my 6th day after my last injection and the area is still tight. No redness or itching to report - and no lump.. So I'm assuming the tightness isn't out of the ordinary.. I'm just used to it going away after 4 or 5 days...

Thanks again for your reply...

Thank you too.. It's about my 9th or 10th injection since being back on something again.. I felt pretty darn comfortable with this last injection.. It figures I have in the back of my mind that I went wrong somewhere.. I suppose I could have moved around a bit.. I also probably pulled-out a bit too quickly. I kinda had the attitude like, "whatever - in - out - done".. Over-confidence, I suppose...

Thanks again...

Well if it is 300mg/cyp per CC its 300mgs per CC...no? That would equate to about 240mg of actual test (less the cyp). Kind of steep for a weekly HRT dose, no?

Re: Injection site sore 5 days later...

It does sound like a high dose, but.. I'm getting this from my doctor now so I'm taking advantage of it.. He's letting me pretty much dictate what I want.. I could have had 200mg/ml but when he said I could get 300, I jumped on that. I actually asked to do Deca along with the Cypionate but he didn't let that fly...

Also, it's a compound pharmacy that I'm receiving everything from...

Re: Injection site sore 5 days later...

Zero Tolerance - you have heard me say this before, that is ALOT of cyp per week. And be sure to watch your "hematocrit" TRUST ME!!! Your local blood bank will check it for free.

I watch mine, every two weeks and when it hits 45 they draw 500 cc of my O neg.

at this time I am having better luck with my 200E every 7 days and now I dont seem to have a problem with red blood cells.

You are only 34 - so your heart is probably alot better than mine. At my age its not a good idea to pump "sludge!" My blood pressure goes sky high.

This morning it was 197/74 pulse 84 - but that was 5 mins after great sex!! I checked it 20 min after and it was 141/74 pulse 84.

In my experience CYP also causes you to hold alot of water and 300 mg is quite a LOAD>

For pain at the injection site, try what works for me.

1. Use a vibrator on the 10cc vial to make sure of the mix.
2. use it on the injection site after the shot.
3.I always draw with a 18 guage pin and shoot with a 23 or 25 guage pin, NEVER use a pin twice....NEVER!!

That eliminated my pain.

and I think we all agree 34 is very young for HRT.

Im trying to remember when I was 34....hell my wife was only 8 yrs old. Ive been down a long road from 34-62 and believe me most of it was dirt.

Re: Injection site sore 5 days later...

Couple questions: my research and limited experience has shown me that 100-120mg/w is usually very sufficient to bring a man back up to the up quad of test levels.

ZT: why would your Dr allow or priscribe you such a huge dose? Do you have bloodwork to support this?

AGELESS: is there a correlation between your age and the need for a higher dose and do your test levels reflect an above range or up quad?

EDIT: ZT, I merged this and your "An update on my HRT" thread. This is all relative and I hope you don't mind me keeping it all together.

Re: Injection site sore 5 days later...

I know it's foolish to be bold. Always wanting more - pushing alittle harder. (just my nature) trying to keep up with the young crowd.
HRT has helped me feel "normal". And I want to feel "normal" all the way to the "crash site".

ZT - more is not always better...for the long run...

WOW! What a great DR...or is he??? I know what you are thinking - more testosterone must be better...and a little "deca". Think of the long road my friend. If you want to have a nice looking body, push iron!! And alot of it!

Go slow...do it right - at 34 you have lots of time.
I know Im rambling on and on....I just wish I could have talked to me when I was 34.

Please dont take this as a flame...or a lecture..Im just trying to stimulate some thinking.

B5150.. Well, I'm on "HRT" because I just generally felt like **** for a long time.. Always tired, weak, adding-on fat even when dieting and doing cardio, etcetera. When I when for bloodwork (those numbers are posted somewhere), the doctor told me my ranges were low enough for therapy with testosterone and Somatotropin...

I don't plan on staying this "high" with the dosing for long.. I know I'm going a little overboard right now - but it's just something I'm doing in the very beginning.. Sort of between HRT and a cycle.. A way to kick-start my body into getting back to where I was some time ago. I'd like to gain muscle mass and lose fat as quickly as I can.. Then, I'll go into cruise-mode...

How does that sound? Oh, I'm also testing different types of testosterones to see how I react to them. On PHs, I always had prostate issues, though nothing that Beta Sitosterol couldn't handle. On Sustanon and Cypionate - I'm having no trouble at all..

Is this making any sense? I'm always open to hear people's suggestions and constructive criticism.. I'm happy that people take the time to share their thoughts...

P.S. I'll be 35 next month...

Hey ZT, you don't need to justify to me...I know where you are going with this ;). I was just surprise, and you were lucky, that you found a Dr. who was so generous with his pen. I could "write my own script" for a whole lot cheaper, if you follow me. The supply issue is much more secure going to the CVS or Walgreens. Keep us posted :)

ZT
Is this thru your regular Dr or an Endo, Uro, Aging specialist etc. Are you able to shift any of the expense to insurance or is all out of pocket for you?

Just went to a different Dr than my regular as she wasn’t familiar with male Andropause and suggested I look elsewhere ( Endos, Uros etc)

Found a D.O. who also is into Holistic/Naturopathic. She sent me in for a massive set of tests (7 tubes of blood and 4 vials of saliva so far). Haven’t received all the results yet and don’t know for sure what her final recommendations will be but at least it is local and some of it will be covered by insurance.

The plan is to try local Drs first then if necessary go online with one of the aging sites or just put together a cycle plan similar to those they use. I have been doing a lot of research on cycles/support/costs etc in case I have to go my own way.

Modern medical practice is such a pain when you’re more educated in a subject than your Dr and your (expensive) insurance plans don’t want to pay for anything.

…Deep Sigh…

Thanks, 5150. :D

glg, this is an anti-aging specialist.. Sort of.. Rejuvenation.. Something like that.. I'm not quite sure everything is being done by the books.. And I don't believe I can get my insurance company involved.. Not even sure if I want to. I don't think I want them knowing anything about this.. They may feel it's too dangerous and drop me or something.. So I'm paying 100% out of pocket.. I'm sure you can find one of the HRT places online to be as leniant as my doctor is.. It may take some looking around, however..

The most expensive part is the Somatotropin (HGH). If I could find that online someplace, I'd probably get it much cheaper and just get the testosterone from the doctor... However, all I can find is IGF-1 and I don't think that's going to work the same way as HGH. HGH may not be as good for building muscle but that's not really what I'm looking for with it anyway...

Hoe-Lee! It took a good 8 days for the discomfort to reside and now, the 10th day, it's basically gone.. I did a glute shot on Friday night and now my ass is dealing with it.. This didn't happen with the Sustanon.. What is this? Dirty Cypionate?

Reply to Dr. John:

Yeah its a Cortisol/DHEA Saliva test. Everything else was in the 7 tubes of blood - I told her I wanted as comprehensive as possible - all the normal + Test, Thyroid, adrenal, vit & min, other hormone etc.

Insurance may pick up part of it...if not I would have had to pay anyway.

I went up to 300mg/week and my test went to 2600 nad estradiol went to 70. I was taken directly to pct by my clinic. No passing go. I was sorry I did so much and lost all that time. 18 days after last inject then 25 days PCT. I'm just starting over now. Feel the difference on only 200mg/week and I take an AI (l-dex) 1mg 3Xweek.

This has been a great couple of days on my HRT road to understanding. Thanks DR. I also was of the opinion that I should have dropped down. I'll also cut l-dex to .5mg 3X week. That was the clinics recommended dose anyway, but us hardheads have that "more is better" thinking. I have seen that 1mg dose 3X's week used by others on here. I have only used one dose so far (Mon). I'd rather be slightly under dosed on all the HRT meds. Say 90% max of top performance. I say "Uncle".

Hey ZT what happened to the Rolls? Can somebody give me a rep?

Thanks Dr. I don't know the status imputed by the additional reps, and have no idea how it's done, but I thank you all the same. I've been pouring my brains out in here to gather enough from the feedback info to feel more comfortable "messing" with my hormones.

Pre HRT

My test total was 546, free% 1.24/67.6. Anti-depression meds were wrecking havoc on libido and was tired all the time. Test cyp helped and with viagra, sex was back to normal.
