A confused beginner in Powerlifting

I have recently started Powerlifting and all my mates complain about masturbation a lot. Tbh, I do it twice a week but everyone I meet in the gym says this frequency is too high. I don't know if it's an asian thing but I find it very confusing at times.

Everybody says it declines strength levels however I have never felt that way. I just want to know if there are powerlifters here who don't shy away from masturbation.

Please guide.
