I'm planning a cut in the next 3-4 weeks, and it will last about 3 months or so, around that timeframe. I want to retain as much strength as possible. As a matter of fact, I would rather retain strength than muscle. I don't mind losing a couple pounds of muscle, which would most likely lead to me losing some strength, but if I can retain as much strength, that would be great.
Would a 5x5 routine be fine during a cut? I would use this for a month, then maybe go to traditional BB split of legs, back/bis, chest/tris/shoulders, and then the last month, do an upper/lower or FB routine.
How does that look?
