Asteroid Stack Mega Prime dosing

Just cardio yesterday... went pretty good.

I look a little leaner, and my diet has not been great lately... it hasn't been terrible either. It's the recomp power of Prime saving my azz... Tonights weigh in should be interesting...

Man I am amped up about starting my Asteroid Stack soon. The recomp effects should really allow me to put the calories in full gear and still only gain LBM. I don't have much fat on me and can't imagine gaining much more size and losing fat. I know that PRIME will keep me lean while I grow even with excess calories I will probably only put on lbm and very little fat if any.

Yah it'll do that... perfect bodybuilders supp... Pretty damn good for powerlifters too with all the strength gains.

If I can hit 200-205 at my current body fat % I will be ecstatic! That is at least 5 solid pounds over about 6 weeks not unheard of but not normally done without excess fat added. I know it will happen. I have to believe! I am getting ready to pick my next show and gear up for it. Tired of waiting for this new federation to post the date of the competition. It was a spin off of FAME but here in US. They changed the federation name and all but same people running it and I liked how they did the shows. More about the athletes than the promoters. Yet I need a date to have somethig to prepare for.

Yah just use aggresive/progressive dosing and it will raise your appetite, listen to your body and the rest takes care of itself. It's just so damn easy!! I have never been able to maintain under 15-18 % body fat and do what I am doing now. It's just going to be easier to cut when the time comes.

I love the sound of that. I also just got good news the federation sent me an email they have a Houston show set up for May again. So that is when the time comes. There is also one like April 25th with another federation. I may use that one as a warm up for the other if I am already in contest shape. I plan to get there again early to allow for some more skin tightening. This time I have my posing videos and what not to help me out.

If you can get an extra set of eyes that would help immensely. I don't have that this time around but maybe I can ask around the gym. I have lots of people around but none with enough experience. My show is on May 22nd I think. One place says May 22 another May 08. That will give me my full 20 weeks so I will get down early as well. I was thinking about 3 weeks maybe that's too soon. I have never not been in a rush before.

I have already visualized the poses in my routine and I know that I can make some really good improvements in that department as well.

There it is again .. like growing pains in my muscles, it's weird and kind of annoying I have to get up and stretch or it starts to drive me nuts.

Man DW that is a problem I would like to have! You know what I feel right now: first there was BC, then AD, and now the time I live in, LAP... that would be life after Prime. Still have the drive and intensity in the gym and moving damn near the same weights, but the DOMS are retarded! If it was not for the bulk PF I would not be able to walk today.

Yeah those are what make me flex ALL the time when on PRIME.

Yeah it's crazy how you feel the DOMS after you stop taking Prime. Even though I was breaking PRs every week on it I was practically never sore; I set a new PR on flat dumbbell bench yesterday and man my chest is feeling it today!

I am feeling less doms at this higher dosing, a benefit I did not get when I was using less.

Well as I suspected last night was not the workout I had hoped for after killing it on Sunday but it was still decent.

I went up to 270 on front squats and it felt heavy, most of my reps were good but a few did not reach the desired depth. I was fighting through these so I did not go up but got 3 sets of 5.

Chest was a bit of a bomb the left shoulder was giving in some.

Back exercises went very well as usual

Push press was good throught the first to sets, on the second set I struggled with the forth so I was suprised when the fifth went up. The 3rd set someone walked in front of me and blew my concentration. I got only 3 don't know if I would have gotten more anyway.

Decline tri extensions were very forced not good form. I got 5/5/4

Curls were ok I did all 3 for 5 but there was some jerking.

I weighed in .5 of a pound lighter. which puts me at exactly 235, so odd I have eaten quite liberally and lost fat.

Seems the higher the does the more recomp effect prime has. I gained more weight at a more moderate dose but when I pushed the dosage up I got more recomp. Interesting don't you think...

I noticed that as well DW, most all of my weight gain was taking it at 8/5 dosing then when I went to 9/6 and sometimes higher I stayed consistent in weight but continued to lose fat.

Hmm does this mean I can just pig out!! lol I am so paranoid of that gain but this product seems to let me get away with murder!! I find my diet getting a little loose and still I lose fat!!

Hey DW we gave those Decline tri extensions a shot, and WOW!!! We affectionately call them DWs now (We could also change the name to IP in honor of the Iron Poet). There was no straight bar around, so we used the straighter of the EZ bars, close grip (as suggested), elbows tight. You could actually see the outer head of the tricep getting pounded. Best part, never used the APT wrap for the elbow, no pain at all. Kept the weight low at around 100, but will def go up next time. Thanks bro. Keep those tips coming. Between you and Kleen this is a great education!!!

100 is actually pretty high for this excercise. It depends also on the about of decline. Just remember to push out towards your spotter the further out the better.

Hey DW, you're still carving it up I see

After a long hiatus Im back on the fasted-AP training, BCAAs (by Snag) and PFs - getting some good results leaning out as summer approaches. Dropping carbs at night, Im feeling so 'clean' it's great! Looking fwd to throw in some OEP!

Yah I'm going to do a test run of OEP starting next Friday...

the bench we use is the standard barbell decline at the gym here. The goal was to hit the spotter in the shins just below kneecap. Should we adjust higher or lower?

Try higher, it's hard to say without watching, I'm sure I would have adjustments to make, but without seeing what your doing it's hard.

Ok my joints are dictating exactly what I have to do next... It's back to 15 reps next week. Yah I will start this over again with different exercises. This time though on days 3 and 6 I will use rest pause 8-4-2. Forgot who made that suggestion, it was a good one though.

New exercises will be

Deep leg press
Stiff legged deads
Decline DB press
Behind back lat pulldown (straight bar)
Tbar rows
Front and back shoulder press (this is gonna hurt)
Tri pressdown machine
Preacher Curls
Donkey calf raise.

I have 5 weeks left so 2 weeks 15's 2 10's then only one week 5's ....

Should be good and nasty...

Well I hit the wall ...

Started out ok and I was very determined, I took a couple scoops of jacked with my pw concoction and a decongestant.

Squats were fine 280 felt heavy so I just finished three sets of 5 and didn't go up from there.

Chest was just ok left shoulder just limits me.

Back was very good as usual.

Push press, I just imploded.. 3 reps on the first set I lowered the weight back down to 135 but only got 4 reps on the next two sets.

I decided not to go up on Tri-extensions, I wanted better reps than last time, they were better .. still not great.

Curls were way two forced, I got the first 2 sets but my form was not good, I went down to 135 and got better reps on the first 3 anyway.

It wasn't that bad I guess, my joints are screaming pretty good, I will be glad to get back to higher reps.

Wow when I saw this routine on paper, I thought I would be able to push beyond my maxes but the accumulation does not allow for that. In some cases I fell just short. That aside the body changes were very good, which is what it's all about for me anyway.

Definitely, I aslo think maybe for some of us bruisers with battle torn tendons and joints the escalation to the 5 reps is pretty fast and the joints find out about it quickly. That and of course the changes in season are amongst us. I love the look of your new workout, and jealous over the OEP. Although I am clean bulking now so probably don't need it.

I'll be using the OEP a little different than most. I will be riight at the end of my Prime mega run so I will be using it to trim down further while I still keep my calories up. The OEP will help me get rid of any extraneous eating though and there has been some of that as Prime makes me hungry an so does this routine. So I think the fat burn from OEP on a sensible maintenance type diet meets the recomp effect of Prime should be very effetive. I will maintain a lot of my mass and hopefully some fat will disappear.

Day off yesterday, I really needed it. New routine starts tommorow. I have a long cardio sessioin planned this morning fasted ap 3 servings of Xtend. Then 30 minutes HITT followed by 15-30 minutes moderate.

I am up to 10 Prime ed and 13 wd plus 1 600 mg for good measure.

New workout is going to be a ball breaker... I was huffing and puffing through this one.

Leg Press, I always underestimate this excercise, I do my reps very, very deep so I get a lot out of them. It wasn't terribly difficult but this is going to be a challenge near the end.

SLDL - 15 reps on this is exhausting, I had to take the weight down a bit to be able to finish.

Decline Db press... went very smoothly, nice to be doing slower concentrated reps on an injured area.

Behind head lat pulldown... liked this exercise I can really feel it working the upper lat area.

Tbar rows ..again exhausting at 15 reps, got it done though.

Back and front shoulder press.. this is a marathon. I was ready for this though and started at very low weight, even so the shoulders were aching quite a bit.

Preacher curls, as expected these made my biceps ache like hell.

Tricep press down machine. I had to push the weight up this machine is easier than I thought.

Donkey calf raise, no issues just the usual small muscle fiber sting...

Pretty exhausting overall...

DW, for your T-bar rows, do you just use a barbell or do you have one of those setups thats made specifically for t-bar rows?
I did these friday with a barbell and 3-4 plates plus a close grip handle from the seated cable rows

I find the barbell works better than the tbar row setups, so your fine. We do have a metal sleeve that helps the bar to stay put but you can just put the bar in a corner and get the same effect.

Man workout sounds awesome! I just found out I will be lucky enough to try some OEP out too, and I plan to use it for exactly the same reason / way you are. Growing muscle on a slightly hyper caloric diet using that to keep the fat away. Funny it was exactly what I thought when i saw that I would get it. Then I come over here and read you will be using it the same way. LOL Great Minds eh!

We do a lot of that, yah. I like to cover both ends no matter what I do, it's one of the principle rules of recomp DW style. Oh and gohard has experienced some pretty heavy appetite suppression on OEP. Get your mega shakes ready cuz it might be hard to get the food down. :burger:

MMMMMM that means I will actually be able to have a weight gainer shake with real ingredients. Did someone say 3 tablespoons peanut butter 1/2 cup oats and 2 scoops of whey and a table spoon of honey. YUM!!!!!!! Yeah I expect to have to drink some cals. I may even force myself to eat every 2 hours and smaller meals. Going to keep carbs between 25-40% of intake during the bulk. I just like the full feeling I have right now in my muscles.

oooh I feel ya there bro..I did 5 sets of 16 RDL the other day w/ DB, used the 65's all the way thru - was exhausting! this did follow 6 sets of fairly heavy squats, but still..

Yah with me it's my lower back that was not used to the strain, once that gets back in shape look out!! The damn hamstrings are really fuggin tight too.. all those front squats did a number.

You pre warm up a little and stretch those hammies of yours? I know you tend to have trouble with them tightening up on you. Just wondered if you get them warm and stretch them first as preventative maintenance.

Always.. it does help quite a bit...

I tend to find myself stretching for short periods out of the day. Just a 30 second hold of this or that stretch in the middle of the day. Makes me feel good and keeps up with some flexibility.

Yah I find when I am Priming I have to stetch I get the odd feeling in my muscles, almost like jimmy legs where I have to stretch.

DW.....do you know ur logs are like little training booklets of info? Wish i could contribute more but seriously you and Kleen are the two big logs i look at to learn. Then we got borobulker who has great powerlifting routines that i take in like a sponge.

Your run so far is very impressive....very impressive

Thanks... I try to imply eactly what is pertinent to what I am experiencing and what is causing the various reactions. Some details I do go into detail because when I read a log, I want the meat and that's what I try to convey... Yah and if you draw the right folks you get the good feedback. I learn from my own log and of course others.

I steal a lot of good ideas off others as well. I guess I can take credit for recognizing a good idea when I see one.. :13:

By far some of my most effective training in the last 20 years. Like I said many times during this run, seems like things are lining up so nicely. Maybe cuz I'm letting them.

Hammered my way through this one...

First of all I was very sore from Sunday, I stretched and got as prepared as I could, I knew it would be a bit rough and I also new I'd eventually loosen up.

Leg press done briskly all reps done, I was stiff like I said but the range was very good.

SLDL again very stiff but got this done with no incident, back is already feeling stronger so I will be able to rock on these.

Decline db press done quite easily weight is not that challenging at this point, however I have ways to make it hurt intensifying each rep.

Behind head lat pulldown.. like I said these are always going to really sting whan done properly at high reps. The trick is to hold the contraction. It'll burn I guarantee it.

Tbar row done with more power than last time, and I was really burning through this the pace was brisk.

Back and front shoulder press. You will hit the wall faster on this exercise than any I have ever done. I fought my way to 15 reps on the first set and ran out of steam on the second set and only did 8. I am going up a little too fast on this one so I will keep the same weight and only go up 5 lbs instead of 10 after that.

Machine tri pressdown, this is a bit of a break from decline extensions but my elbows need it, was not extremely challenging at this point.

Preachers, I had much better stamina and less aching reps were very very clean.

I was huffing and puffing all the way through very good session ..took 1 hour 15 minutes which is about as good as it is going to get on 15 reps for this one.

Weigh in .... 239!! The wife said I looked leaner but I don't really agree. I think some of this is from the loosening of the diet, however I do not believe that I am any less lean than when I started and possibly a bit leaner still. So I am up 10.5 lbs that is very good for 6.66 weeks. There is also the possibilty of some water retention as I thought I was looking a little bloated last night. I will confirm this on Thursday.
