Norwegian's Pre-contest Prep w/IntraStack [sponsored]

Yeah, it is overly compulsive. I guess I never realized it b/c it was second hand nature, but since I was physically unable to even get out of bed, I noticed how obsessed I really am.

I agree with you both, and I appreciate the suggestive responses. I've decided that I won't be working out today, PERIOD. No cardio, no abs, no weights. Tomorrow, I'll be doing at least one sessions of cardio plus abs and calves, but I will not be hitting the weights again until Thursday's already plannet out workout. Today will literally be my first day OFF from any form of exercise in I believe 3 weeks. Even carb-load days have included a run or a cardio session .. I got to listen to my body this time around.

Also, I won't refrain from my diet. I won't add any carbs, nor will I change any meals or treat myself with 'just ONE' of anything out of the ordinary. Truthfully, my glycogen storages are already significantly depleted. I haven't enjoyed carbs since Saturday around Noon, prior to my Saturday's workout. I'm getting my MCT oil, fish oil and some more hawthorn berry in today. The MCT is ideal for a diet such as mine as it helps burn fat for energy once my glycogen storages are low, and I'm hoping I'll be able to cut back on my stims when I get my Beta Alanine (thank you volcomX311!), as that always helps my endurance, focus and stamina in the gym in a non-stim manner. Fact of the matter is that I never felt like this while on the IntraStack, as it was the BA that kept me pushing myself, as opposed to a bunch of caffeine, yohimbine and so on and so forth ..

3 weeks no rest, wow, and you've been kick'n your own @$$ physically and nutritionally. A physical rest would be a great idea.

Your BA should be there soon, I sent it last Thursday

Not to mention multiple sessions in one day

Norwegian...you have some like subconscious desire to over-train don't you :p

Hahaha, it's not so much a sub-conscious desire to overtrain, it's more regarding the fact that I'm VERY impatient, and I need to see results fast ! I knew that this time around, I was 5X more prepared to be dieting like this than last semester, so I just decided that this was gonna be my be-all-end-all kind of deal.

VolcomX311: please hit me up with the contact information regarding the NCA support group ! ;)

it is interesting because I am starting to think that I am obsessed with working out, in a very unhealthy way.

I have had this massive flu that has kept me from working out for 3 days. Prior to it, I was thinking to myself when the last time I've had a break was.

It has been atleast a good 3 months since I've taken some time off. It just occured to me that I've been working out 6-7 days/week either cardio or weight training. It isn't even necessarly about looking good or getting into shape, just my workouts in the evening is what gets me through the day.

I used to be that way for such a long time (in my days when I was on the quest for mass and just more mass), working out 7 days a week, wondering 'why doesn't everyone work out 7 days a week ? Who needs rest ?' ..

It's a drug, indeed. You get anxious is you miss your dosage (your training session), you get pissed off, followed by anxiety if you have a bad trip (to the gym), and you find yourself handing over all your cash to the money-horny dealers (supplement companies) ..

Exercising should be banned!

Day 33:

Cardio: AM
30 minute run outside

- just popped 4 caps AMP on an empty stomach, about to hit up calves, abs and a 45 minute cardio session in about 15 minutes.

PM session:

Abs/Calves supersets:

Vertical situps/Hanging knee raises/Crunches/Side Bends
Machine Calf Raises, Smith Machine Calf Raises

Cardio:
Treadmill: 15 minutes @ 6-6.5mph
(calves were aching due to all the running I've been doing on sidewalks and concrete, so I got on the bike instead)
Stationary Bike: 30 minutes @ level 5-6; 105 rpm

Weight - 222 lbs.

Ahhhhh, got my Beta Alanine in, and cardio became a breeze after a couple minutes on the bike ! Threw about 6 grams BA with 4 scoops Xtend (orange) and 30 grams of whey protein in 3/4 gallon cold water. I'm still enjoying the drink half an hour after completing my workout. Love the Beta !

So you mix whey, xtend, and now BA into a big container and drink it throughout your workout? I've thought about throwing a scoop of whey into my shake but never heard of anyone actually doing it.

Normally I don't throw the whey in there. I only did that on that particular day because I did not have time to throw in another meal prior to working out. But on my Thursday and Saturday workout, I throw about 30 grams of WMS in a 3/4 gallon jug with 5-6 scoops of Xtend. Last semester I used to mix Substance WPI with Watermelon Xtend for about a month, but I won't swear on it having any additional benefits .. (although you've got all those preachings by Milos Sarcev and whatnot ..)

Day 34: (late update)

My bud gave me 1.5-2 scoops nano vapor pre-workout .. initially a great idea. But in the long run (45 minutes +) it was just dumb!

Hammer Behind Neck Pulldowns - 180 * 12, 180 * 12, 180 * 12, 180 * 12
Incline Hammer Press - 180 * 15, 270 * 12, 270 * 10, 270 * 9, 270 * 9
Seated Side Laterals - 30 * 15, 40 * 12, 45 * 12, 50 * 10

Fixed T-bar Rows - 90 * 15, 135 * 12, 180 * 12, 225 * 10
Flat DB Press - 90 * 10, 100 * 9, 100 * 8, 90 * 8
Reverse Pec Dec Flyes - 150 * 12, 170 * 10, 170 * 10, 150 * 10

Seated Dumbbell Shrugs - 125 * 20, 125 * 20, 125 * 20

Machine Uni-arm Curls - 90 * 20, 150 * 12, 150 * 12, 170 * 10, 170 * 10
EZ-bar Pressdowns - 80 * 20, 100 * 20, 100 * 20, 100 * 20
superset with
Machine Preacher Curls - 80 * 15, 80 * 15, 80 * 15

Weight - 219.8 lbs. (holy $hiiiiit!!!! same weight I was as a Junior in high school, only with a few, meager couple pounds of added beef ! ;))

- I'm as confused as you guys are.. NO LEGS ?! Nope, hell no.. By the time I was doing my second round of upper body movements, I was wigging the F--- out !I had been the whole workout actually, eyes WIDE open, an energy surge a little too intense, actually just too much of a stimuli .. hard to explain. Before I began my second round, I had to sit down and CHILL for 3 minutes to get my head to stop spinning. I had an intense pump, but everything else was too intense. The T-bars were disgusting, I slapped on an additional plate for every set, and I've never gone up to 5 plates on this machine before. I haven't done these in 6-8 months either, so it's obvious that my heavy deads have worked up some brute power in my back. My traps have grown, they looks sick ! Although a hellacious body pump, I was still feeling weird, nausoues at times, and it was just too much. I sipped on 5-6 scoops Xtend with 5 grams of BA and 50 grams of WMS during my workout, and this obviously further enhanced the drive and pump, but the Vapor proved to be too much for a complete body workout. I've concluded it's a great product and needs to be used with respect, but I couldn't recommend it to anyone but those who do short, intense workouts, for a duration of no more than 45-60 minutes (if that long..).

The reason I couldn't do legs was because my heart was pounding so hard I had the worst f*cking headache ever. Like I said, I was spinning .. With the intensity I put forth in my leg workouts I knew it'd be a BAD combination to go for it. I probably wouldn't be writing this as we speak had I attempted it even.. Weighing in @ 219.8 lbs was UNREAL, because I was looking like a jacked up 230-240 pounder at the end of my workout.

Upon completion, I had supersetted bis and tris, and the arm pump was sick, sick, sick ! My arms looked as thick as my chest viewed from the side. I took my shirt off in the locker room, and I've never been happier with the way i look. Overall pump was beastly, and I was looking thick yet cut and defined. I did a couple poses, snapped a couple pics with my phone, but then it seemed as if every motherf*cker who had to use the pissed incidentally had to 'drop by their locker' or 'sneak a peak at the TV behind me'.. You get what I'm saying, there were about 6-7 of those 'I'm gonna try not to look but it's SO damn obvious that I am' kinds of people. This mexican dude was on his way out of the locker room, and turned back around and walked towards the tv with a commercial on [for god's sake ..], and I just felt too many eyes on me right then and there.. Truthfully, it was semi-uncomfortable, although I felt confident as hell. But ****, I was feeling how I was looking at the time being.

I've finished a helluva carbload since Thursday night, and it's no about noon on Saturday and I'm gonna tear it up at the gym in about an hour. Got to get me some wrist straps though, for grip purposes, because I may attempt to beat my 520 * 2 Page Ranking on the deads from last weekend.

.. to be continued.

i got into texas A&M norwegian. although tis through the blinn team. looks like i found a new WO buddy for next year. haha jk

yeah man im excited.thanks :D do you like it there? i have heard mixed but i think it would be a good fit for me because it seems more like a "we dont take ****" school.

I'm not the right person to ask about A&M, man.. I've got NO maroon spirit, I simply chose the best public school in the state. Let's face it, that's the truth ! And that Aggie ring will yield life-long connections which really enticed me further. I got in to UT San Antonio (who doesn't?) out of high school, but I bailed on it and went to Blinn instead because I chose A&M over both UT and Southwest Texas State (DUH!). To be honest, I regret not aiming for UT ! Austin is my kind of town, and they're my kind of people. Aggies are .... well, they're Aggies. No if's, and's or but's .. There's a SEVERE amount of spirit, too much too often, the maroon poison is all across town (literally). You'll never catch a break from big, jacked up trucks with smoky exhausts and hichs with cowboy boots, 12 inch wallets sticking out their back pocket, and belt buckles the size of a DVD case. Nauseating at times, but the fact that everything is central here is what keeps me going. You don't got to go far to get where you want to go, and it's really a nice looking city.

Not a day goes by where I don't want to walk up to one of the many stereotypical frat wannabe's walking around with their head held up way too high or a cowboy and just ...... let them know how I feel ;)

Lol Yeah this sounds like my school sort of but not as extreme. They have the big trucks and **** like that but not the hats as much. The people here are weird like that to. They have all know each other for the most part their whole lives(small towns) and here I come from tampa fl and these people are rude as hell and act like they are the sh#t(when they aren't).have you ever been to dallas? My kindof girlfriend goes to southern methodist there.. I thought everyone their was really cool and hotties everywhere( I could of just been with the right people).Thats the only place I have been to in texas though. The reason i say this is I was going to go to am for meteorology and glad I am not going to know.lol Carry on with this cardio rich log!!!

Notes:

- I wanted BADLY to beat my previous personal best from last weekend, so I put a lot of time and prep in to my deadlifts on the quest of that PR. Seeing 5 and a half plates on each side felt pretty damn good. I've never seen anyone hoist that kind of weight over there before. My traps looked absolutely disgusting with veins throbbing as I began pulling the 545. I've attained some crazy vascularity by now, and significant muscle definition. My entire upper body was jacked. I felt on top of the world when I got to full extension! I decided to gradually drop, and when I got to 405, I just began repping them out, confused where the strength came from. Gotta be honest, after 4 reps I was like, '****, VolcomX311 just did 7 reps the other day, I'ma get that too!' [****in weird, perhaps, but I had been reading his log prior to hitting the gym, lol]. I got my 7, and was feeling gooooood!

- I was pretty happy with the 275 * 6 set, as it's my first time back using barbell for flat bench press since sometime last semester. But .. My traps/clavicle hurt like a biiitch after each set, it must have contracted my traps too hard or something (if that makes sense at all..) when doing my reps.

- No legs today, either. I didn't have much more in me by the end. But next week I'm gonna change things a little bit. I may do two whole weeks where I split up my bodyparts as opposed to doing full body four days per week. I haven't decided on routines or anything, but I'm definitely starting off with legs on Monday. I guess one reason for this change is because I'll be adding RPM and Drive soon [when it comes in the mail - sponsored], and because I miss spending an hour and a half on each and every bodypart, and blow up my arms to their full potential again !

- I won't be changing my diet or cardio training. I'm still cutting ;)

Congrats on the new PR on the deadlift. That's a lot of weight. I can't imagine how ripped your looking. What day is your competition?

I also know how you feel about the full body workouts. I like the ideas and science behind McDonald's workouts, but sometimes you miss the insane pumps you can get doing one part a day.

Also I've finally read through almost all of the UD 2.0. It's definitely a good read and I think I might have to give it a try this summer.

Keep up the good work man.

Thanks for the encouragement !

I'm looking real good up untill Friday, but with the carb-load I always bloat a little bit. I honestly HATE carb-loads and I'm looking into a viable option (TKD perhaps) because I experience major digestive issues every damn time I carb up. Had three or four trips to the bathroom leading up to my workout, which should say it all .. I don't know many who have attempted the U.D 2.0, but I'd be interested in knowing how anyone deals with problems like that. I'm looking real lean, tight and defined as soon as my stomach issues fade - returns to normal mid-afternoon on Sundays, about 24 hours after my final carb meal. I'm starting to think that I am getting problems digesting carbs to begin with, just because I am so used to being deprived of them.

Competition is scheduled on June 7th, but to be fair, I haven't had the funds to spend on the NPC card yet..

And yes, I miss 'da pump' [bow for Arnold] big time ! Definitely hoping my RPM and Drive will be coming in on Monday so I can start it at the beginning of the week, as my training program will then change.. I can barely wait for the numbing arm pump I used to get to come back next week ! No doubt in my mind Tuesday is an ARMS only day ;) Looks like I'm getting closer and closer to deciding what next week will look like ! lol ...

Cardio: PM session

35 minute run outside; had 1 scoop of Xtend with 3 grams of BA I began sipping on 10 minutes prior to taking off. Let me put it in simple terms; Beta Alanine makes me not want to turn around and go back home ! ;)

Oh yeah .. random, but whatever .. You know how Cell Tech has a 'warning' on there saying that it may burn when you choke down the Cell Tech drink due to the ALA content ? ...

I've done this before, and I somehow managed to again today, but I popped 300mg ALA 20 minutes prior to running on an EMPTY stomach. I've been burping up the most sour painful burps of my life for the entire run. It tastes more acidic than vomit. My throat is STILL on fire after that capsule broke apart in my stomach .. arrrghh !

- word for the wise, take ALA WITH meals ! ;)

A random questioin for ya'll ..

Does your gym have a policy regarding the minimum temperature they have to meet inside of the gym ? Mid-way through yesterday's workout, I was pissed off cus I couldn't get and attain the pump, even though I was only doing 90-12 seconds in between most sets, because it was ****!ng 64 degrees in that b!tch !! I went to a Gold's employee and asked to see the manager, I just said straight up, 'I'm tired of this bullshit, I'm sweating while working out, and freezing by the time I begin my next set cus of the ****!ng temperature!'

Anyway .. Anyone else run into this issue ?

Day 37: AM Cardio

Stairmaster; 50 minutes on Fat Burning; Level 9

- Popped 4 amps on an empty stomach 90 minutes prior to doing cardio, and began sipping on a scoop and a half of Xtend mixed with 4 grams of BA 10 minutes prior to starting. The energy level was awesome, my endurace was great, no soreness, no huffing and puffing, just sweated my ass off ! That machine was as drenched as I was once I was done !

The gym here at my college lets it get too cold once in a while, but rarely. I hate working out when it's cold. The combination of the fear of pulling something, the inability to get a good pump, and the freezing feeling just pisses me off and makes it hard to get an efficient safe workout. If they aren't going to adjust the temperature, you might to start throwing on some clothes. Long sleeves, sweats? If your like me though, you like being able to see yourself though, so this might not be doable. Also if your in texas, you would think they would let it be warmer so they wouldn't run up their AC bill so high.

Day 37: AM Cardio

Stairmaster; 50 minutes on Fat Burning; Level 9

QUOTE]

Sweet, that's what I do. The Fat Burning for 45-60 min, but I'm only around intensity 6 to 8 (depending how gangster I feel that day). I usually start on 6, but then I ALWAYS get AMPED out my brain once I see the sweat build up and drip off my body, then I bump the intensity up to look even more Rambo and make my body rain.

Also, fricken amazing job on the dead lift :clap2:. I've never even tried 545 yet. Great job, that's impressive.

Thank you, sir ! What can I say, your log has literally inspired me .. (referring to the deadlifts as well as today's cardio session.) Man, I held my hand carefully on the rail, and within 10 minutes, I had sweat dripping from every finger, and after 15 minutes, I felt the sweat just run down my legs. Burned 730 calories within those 50 minutes, and let me tell you, I feel 'relieved' already, got rid of some unwanted water/bloat, and got to go all out on the cardio. I drenched my hooded sweatshirt in no time.

- I'm about to take 20mg of adderal, and an addition 10-20 mg in about 3 hours, because I've got a major research paper I've got to head to the library to take care of. I hate adderal in the sense that it makes me crave 'more' of something afterwards, and I always sweat balls and my heart rate goes up .. but in these time of need, it's necessary.. I love the focus, but I normally crash, so whether or not I'll be able to throw another cardio session in for the evening I'm not yet sure of..

Day 37: PM Cardio

35 minute run outside; few things feel better than to just throw on some kicks when the sun's about to go down, and take off with no said direction . . .

I feel ya there man, last year when I lived in florida I ran all the time outdoors..usually after work(like 9pm) I'm moving back there cause I miss it. Great log man, good depth, and updates.

This is such a great log man. You are one dedicated individual and thats a great trait. Keep it up i enjoy reading along.

Thanks a lot, fellas ! Getting the feedback I do here, and knowing people follow along only further motivates me to keep going !

Day 38: AM cardio

Elliptical Machine; 20 minutes
Stairmaster; Fatburning mode; level 9; 20 minutes

- I was planning on having a long, sweat-drenched session of Stairmaster, but two old ladies were occupying the two Stairmasters we've got at the Gold's gym here. Didn't exactly put me in a good mood, but the Elliptical movement woke up my whole body, and got me nice and warm for the Stairmasters. On the Stairmaster, I focused my attention on exaggerated leg movements as well as calf extensions - I was walking on my toes for the whole 20 minutes - making it a half-way calf workout. My calves are PUMPED as we're speaking, and I bet they're gonna be sore as hell later on !

Oh, and I popped 4 AMP caps @ 7.30AM followed by an omelette (3 whole eggs, 5 egg whites) w/some cheese. I started warming up inside out within 60 minutes, and I began sipping on 2 scoops Xtend with 4 grams of Beta Alanine 30 minutes prior to my cardio session. I swear by this combination ! ;)

Got a busy frikkin' day ahead, finishing a research paper and studying for another test I've got tomorrow .. I will be hitting the gym tonight, though, but I got a feeling my leg workout won't be till around 9 or 10PM tonight, something I'm NOT a fan of doing ! Not that late anyway ..

As with many others, the stomach/oblique area tends to be the most stubborn .. By now, it's just annoying how I'm not getting to where I want to be at no matter how hard I diet and how much cardio I do ..

I mentioned my interest in Atomic Meltdown for tanning purposes as well as it's fat-burning effects (similar ingredients as Napalm?) .. I am interested in getting more tan as well as more cut, so ought I get Napalm and go all out, or will Atomic Meltdown help significantly ?

Take your runs shirtless... CALI STYLE. I used to go on remote hikes shirtless or find an empty football field and do HIIT shirtless to kill two birds in one stone, tan plus cardio. But I don't know if the Texas atmosphere is the same as Southern California's.

Oh man, it wasn't obvious I did that ?! LOL.. After dieting like this, trust me, I don't avoid showing myself ! ;)

Tan and Fit, best of both worlds ! haha (depending on what world you live in ..)

Yeah, Atomic Meltdown would help. It's got our Napalm formula in it. Even better would be to use Atomic Meltdown stacked with Napalm though. That way, you could apply the AM pre-tanning and the Napalm one other time in the day(depending on when you tan). Ideally, you want to be applying Napalm twice a day.

I appreciate the response, and it does indeed sound like a tempting combo. I will need to speak to the AN reps regarding adding either one of them, as I am about to start a Drive/RPM log tomorrow [sponsored by AN]. To prove the efficiency of the AN products, I would be most interested in trying the Atomic Meltdown now, while waiting with the Napalm until later.

Day 38: LEG DAY, BABY !! (Day #1 of RPM/Drive)

Popped 4 caps of each RPM and Drive about 45 minutes prior to working out. Mixed 4 scoops of Xtend with 25 grams of WMS and 4 grams of Beta Alanine in 3/4 gallon water.

Today was leg-day ONLY, first time in too long. I knew it had to be short and sweet because I've got a looong night ahead of me in front of the books.

Hack Squats - (225 * 12) 360 * 12, 450 * 6, 450 * 6, 450 * 5, 450 * 5
One-legged Horizontal Leg Press - 135 * 15, 180 * 12, 225 * 8, 225 * 8

Walking Dumbbell Lunges (w/60 lbs DB/hand) - 10 steps/leg * 4 sets
Standing One-legged Leg Curls - 60 * 12, 60 * 12

- It took me 35 minutes to complete this workout, and I was SOAKED by the time I did my third set of Hack Squats. My intensity was above and beyond, and my focus even more so. My endurance, stamina, and drive is unmatched at my gym, I know it, they know it, everyone knows it. My kind of intensity is more taboo than anything. I'm the silent nut-case who don't get eye contact with anyone up there, nor to I speak to anyone. I'm cocky in the sense that I'm there for one reason, and one reason only, to hit the weights with all my might. If I see a buddy, my headphones won't leave my ears, and I'll just nod. They know what's up by now, they respect the fact that I don't socialize. They don't respect my natural results, though, so fcuk them ! Been talking to a couple buds outside of the gym lately, and there's noone who's not convinced I'm using. Fcuk 'em. Haters. Todays' leg workout was sick. Heavy ass rock bottom hack squats got me off to a good start, and the concentrated one-legged horizontal leg presses allow me to fill every muscle cell in my quads and hams with blood. My legs were throbbing as I was doing my last two sets, but I wasn't gonna stop till I had my reps. I was drenched before I even got to my second exercise, and I had thrown off my pants before the second working set on hacks to see what was going on down there. LOL. My legs godt jacked. Veins running across my quads, and overall impressive leg-development. Calves and hams are coming in, and I couldn't be happier. I'm gonna give some credit to all the running I do for some of my calf developement, because I've been cutting down on the calf work the past couple of weeks. My hams were spasming from the first lunge-rep, but I knew I had four sets to do, and that was all there was to it. Normally I'd use 50s on lunges for the same amount of reps, whereas now I'm using 60s and doing the same reps and sets. I was lunging down the 'main strip' inside the gym, but I wasn't gonna fcuking yield for anyone. 'Move bit$hes, I'm in the middle of my set!' was my motivation. I kept my head down and stared at my legs for every rep. It kept me going to see the veins and muscle throbbing for each lunge. It didn't hurt that it was the top of the hour at the gym, and it was packed either .. that never hurts ! ;)

Well, that's Day #1 of my RPM/Drive recomp combo down in the history books. It's only gonna go uphill from here. More records to break. More heads to turn. More shock and awe to come. It has only begun !

[I'll be starting a new thread tomorrow, btw]

Day 39: AM Cardio

- Woke up @ 6.45AM, choked down 3 caps of Drive alongside of caps of AMP. Laid back down, and got up at 7.30 AM, had a shake, and hit the Stairmaster at 8AM.

Stairmaster; Fat burning mode; level 8 for 30 minutes; followed by level 6 for 10 minutes.

- I was sweating like a pig in heat .. But I'm definitely enjoying early AM cardio. Gets me up and ready for the day !
