any chance of it on certain orders? I order 6-7 products and its like $80US.. thank god the Australian dollar is strong as atm, otherwise i couldn't even afford to order from the US.

shipping seems to kill it alot.. no matter the size of the order ive worked out.. its prob best when u do $1000 orders, shipping maxes around 160-180US.. but thats 40-70 items later..

couldnt find the original thread..

:D

NP i am by no means trying to stir the pot here, in fact you guys seems to ignore every other thread about int'l shipping so i'll just go ahead and post it anyway.

Why is your int'l shipping a lot more exspensive then ...? Do they get some kind of discount or is there an issue with the shipping calculations on the NP web site. e.g 2RPM + 2Drive was $12.99 at (think was $18 or something like that) but at NP it was $28 which seems far too expensive. With fed ex it was $61 while bn Fed ex was $30.

Could you guys please check that the shipping costs are not getting doubled by mistake or something because it seems like that may be the case. Of course perhaps have some kind of half price deal with USPS or whatever i dunno.

Ye, If you can.. by any means look into International shipping.. and see if theres any money to be saved, it would be AWESOME.

I do understand is cheaper, but for what reason I do not know? maybe usps gives them some deal?...

and stock vasopro or something ;)

hehe

I think they should subsidize the international shipping a little bit. They give free shipping within the US so say it costs them $5-$10 per order to ship in the US. They're giving that to the US customers for free. So why can't they knock off that much for international shipping?

They have higher margins on international orders because they're not paying anything for shipping, the customers pay for it all.

I'm not saying international shouldn't pay anything more than domestic but I think we should only have to pay the difference between what it would cost to ship within the US and what it costs to ship internationally.

yeah i don't think NP are trying to make extra money from the int'l buyers, i mean its not ebay but something doesn't seem right.

We do give international discounts at various times throughout the year. Margin on international orders, can quickly turn to nothing, or even negative from even a partial discount. Say someone orders 2 5lb jugs of protein, and we get $6 profit per jug(which may actually be a bit high). For domestic shipping, Fed ex would charge about $7.50 to ship this. Now if this was free domestic shipping, we would have a $4.50 profit for the order.
So imagine even if just 25% off international shipments were offered. this same shipment to Australia, would be north of $40 for shipping. (Of course they wouldn't let the protein in, but thats another matter) It just wouldn't work. This would be a quick way for a company to end up in the red. We don't want our international customers thinking these threads are ignored, as we throw ideas around all the time on what we can do to reduce cost. But the only really feasable thing, is to have sales, which is why we have so many :)

So why not discount the $7.50 from the international shipping? If it costs $15-$20 to ship it to Canada, if it was discounted the amount that it would cost to ship domestically then it'd be a little more incentive to order from nutraplanet. So if you have a $4.50 profit for the order, it'd be the same margin no matter where you're shipping it to if the international shipping was discounted by whatever $ amount it cost to ship domestically.

Yes, you get less margin per international order but you would get more orders in the long run to make up for the difference.

I ordered something from a website and the shipping was $13.99 US, same thing at np is $21. MOD EDIT: Then thats your choice.

Im not saying for every order, but lets say, every order over 200US $5OFF, $300, $10 OFF, $400, $15 OFF.. I dunno..

If someone in US does a $800 order, u guys pay for it dont u? it must cost u...

I do 400-1000 orders all the time.. and yes that 50% discount u had saved me 70US!!!

But if I do a 400order, it costs me 98US in shipping, it suxs balls :( thats all, esp for us guys who order bigger orders!

:(:(

PS How do BN manage cheaper shipping? I dont get it? Dont USPS charge the same?

yeah i here ya man. Lets just hope NP come up with something soon because there prices are no doubt the cheapest on the net, ... MOD EDIT: Uncalled for.

by the way, your a gold member! dont u get big discounts anyway??

It's Like I just said Eating. We have a lot of international orders for protein, bulk items etc. Even discounting 7.50 can bring down profit from an order to almost nil. The economics of the situation is not as cut and dried as you may think

I just joined, there haven't been any discount codes in the ~week or so that I've been gold.

I just don't see how if you discount it to domestic orders, you can't afford to do it for international.

Say the order was for $250, shipping was free for domestic but cost you $10. The same order international still costs $250, you can discount $10, the customer pays the extra shipping, say $10-$15, maybe more. You're still getting the exact same profit you get on domestic orders this way.

Agree.

Example.. if a US guy orders 800US.. how much would it cost you? $30-50US?

If I order 800US, shipping is like $170US.. why cant i be discounted that 30-50US also?

I dont get it? Why are other sites a bit cheaper on shipping also? You all use the same company? are they over-charging you?

I admit, I get 5% off sometimes, but its difficult to spend over 500US on every order, then fork out 110US for shipping! :(

Oh well, hence i normally stick to crazy massive orders but i cant do that often and i miss out on all the good deals :(

Yes. If you reach a certain volume you get truck/trucks assigned specifically to you and you can also take those figures that you spend per month and have something to negotiate. If you are smaller and don't get the volume, they won't work with you. Its that simple.

Not to mention you have to cover fraud charges which predominantly come from overseas orders where its 100x harder to track down and resolve and the small business has much less leverage to work with. In other words, you can get screwed or it takes time to get your money back and overseas orders are generally large.

People coming in NP's forum and complaining and implying they are making money off international shipping while threatening to go somewhere else isn't the most respectful thing to do so its stopping now. They don't deserve any of it. They have monster sales and cut prices all the time so implying they are trying to make money off of shipping charges is completely uncalled for. If you have an issue then email them, but sitting here and telling NP how to run their business and what their bottom line consists of is ridiculous.

In the last 2 months I gave out codes that paid for your whole year as a gold member so I'm sorry if I didn't fit your time frame.
