Designer Nutrition Sustain Bar
Like its elder brother, SUSTAIN™, the SUSTAIN Bar utilizes a combination of proteins for a superior effect on reducing protein breakdown and promoting protein synthesis, while including carbohydrates and fat to create an incredibly handy and versatile means of convenience eating – in essence, an “MRP” in a very portable bar. Lacking the sugar alcohols, trans- and partially-hydrogenated fats, artificial sweeteners and preservatives found in most barely-palatable protein bars, the SUSTAIN Bar is sweetened with natural honey and uses REAL peanuts and peanut butter to give the best Peanut Butter Fudge flavor available.
Each bar is only 300 calories, and provides 20 grams of high-quality protein. If you’re pressed for time and scheduled to eat, simply grab a SUSTAIN bar and you’re good for several hours. (Q) How many bars does each box provide?
(A) Twelve bars per box.
(Q) How long will a box last?
(A) Depends upon how frequently you consume the bars. They taste so good that we’d not be surprised if you got through at least a bar a day.
(Q) How will I know whether it tastes good?
(A) We made your decision about this significantly easier with widespread product testing of the bar. The majority of feedback from this can be viewed in our product feedback section for the SUSTAIN Bar. Or alternatively, check pretty much any major bodybuilding message board for feedback.
(Q) What flavor is the bar?
(A) Just like its elder brother, SUSTAIN™, the SUSTAIN Bar comes in Peanut Butter Fudge flavor. Keep checking back for information about future flavors (of which there will be many, including very original and exotic flavoring systems).
(Q) When should I eat the bar?
(A) Whenever you like – for breakfast, for dinner, for fun etc. Whatever tickles your fancy, really. The macronutrient breakdown of the bar makes it essentially an “MRP”, so we personally endorse its use as an on-the-go source of protein, carbohydrates and fat. The majority of your daily nutrition should come from whole foods, but the SUSTAIN Bar is for convenience eating.
(Q) “Convenience eating”?
(A) Yeah. Say you’re on a road trip and stopping every few hours just to eat is impractical, or you’re in the office and only have a few minutes to eat between meetings, of your girlfriend is dragging you around the mall etc. We’re sure you get the picture. Basically, the SUSTAIN Bar requires no Tupperware containers, no cutlery and certainly no cooking. You can throw it in your jacket pocket when you’re out and about and eat it when its time to eat.
(Q) So what is the macronutrient breakdown of the bar?
(A) Each bar provides 300 calories, 20 grams of protein, 35 grams carbohydrate and 9 grams of fat. There are no trans or partially hydrogenated fats, no preservatives, no sugar alcohols, or artificial sweeteners.
(Q) If you don’t use any of those, then what makes it taste as good as you claim?
(A) The SUSTAIN Bar is flavored with natural honey, and even contains real peanuts and real peanut butter.
And because it contains real peanuts and real peanut butter, anyone with any kind of nut allergy needs to avoid the consumption of this product. There may be traces of other nuts in it.
(Q) Is the protein in the bar a blend like in the SUSTAIN™ powder?
(A) Correct. The SUSTAIN Bar is a blend of caseinate, whey concentrate and soy isolate.
