Well I decided to take a week off. I've being going pretty hard for 7 months and only missed a few days to being sick.. My body is wanting a break, so I'm smoking and eating as much as possible. My right quad is killing me, it feels like it's been strained I guess? It's been like this for awhile, almost like I over stretched it. It doesn't affect my lifts just an annoyance with some pain. So I'm exploring a few options, in addition to sauna, hot tub, foam rolling and stretching. Going to do this for a week then a week of lifting with half the load I was working with. Any thoughts?

For those who don't know, Aaron Lewis is the ex singer of Stained. If you won't listen to the song, read this part , "Cause the biggest things in life are your friends and family"
That right there is what it's all about! Tell those you love, that you love them.

I am that one friend. HHahah

Rest for the quad my man, that's all I can offer. Never had a quad issue. Had an intercostal strain that prevented me from deadlifting and squatting for like 4 months but it finally healed by just not putting that aggravating stress on it. Kind of climbing the hill back to where I was deadlift wise, but squats are already PR-ing since.

Strains are found to be in 3 grades usually. Id hope theres no bruising but check to see if theres additional blow in the area by checking the temp compared to the opposite side. From there ext. your leg and squeeze for a strong contraction and compare the other side. I honestly think if you want to keep training then Ace wrapping that would be a def necessity. Foam rolling and sticking arent bad options but can be detrimental in the early phases and can lead to constantly resetting the inflammatory phase. Will they help yes but in due time. Ice and some Ace wrapping and gentle stretching will be your best friend.

Thanks for the reply and advice!! Ok for the ace bandage do you mean around the quad? If so how far up to the hip and down to the knee? Also how tight?

Tight enough to provide support but not soo tight you compromise function. Your really good if you can get the cross pattern to arrow down the front of your quad lol. Top of the quad will be fine for application but it can be different for each person.

All right I'll give that a try when I get back in the gym, thank you for the advice. Have you ever seen or used these and would this work? This is what I have but I can get an ace bandage if not https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=v-XAK8fmVtI

Also would these help?
