I'm 54 this summer. Osta ended 3 weeks ago. My test levels have been at 340 for the last 3 years now. I'm having all the low T symptoms such as low endurance, belly fat easily added, slightly depressive outlook, grumpy/moody and low libido. My Dad was on TRT at this age as well. I haven't taken this decision lightly, believe me.

You are very smart. So many people start high, see sides and then spend months figuring out what is happening. Better to start around 100 (split 2x week if possible) and move up if needed. You may find that an AI is not needed at all. Make sure to keep up on labs so you can see how you are reacting and don't just use them as a gauge, but rather in combination with how you feel.

Damn your 10 years older than I thought! Lol. TRT should probably help a quite bit. Could be a very good thing for you.

Thank much Kisaj. Doc prescribed 200 mg Test C/E combo per week, Vit D3, B12 injection, DHEA and AI EOD. I felt this would spike my test level so will try 50 mg every 3 days and no AI based on your recommendation. I'll be getting bloods in a month. I'm trying to play this smart and not have the sides I'm reading about.

What I take based on years of trial and error and lots of work with my doc is:

    60mg test cyp e3.5d
    10mg pregnenolone eod
    5mg DHEA eod
    vit D 800iu

I have no need for an AI, but I do use Formeron eod because I love the drying effect it gives. Plus it lowers my e2 into the teens which I found is a nice feeling. But that is very individualistic. You may find that you feel better a little lower or higher. Only you can determine.

This keeps my test levels in the 700-800 range for most of the 3.5 days and I usually test in the high 600s on injection day. e2 rides in the low 20s without an AI, and DHEA and vit D levels are at the top range.

Keeping carbs lower than 200 has resulted in reduced bloating but when I splurged to 250 then wam! the bloat was back. I mean my body weight was 161.4 after 3 days of carbs below 200, then after 2 days around 250 the weight jumped to 166.4! I was shocked! I am eating lower GI carbs and that helps as well.

So carbs are my issue for bloating. Eating less and staying away from high GI carbs. I miss ice cream with the no dairy diet!

Absolutely into martial arts. I've practiced for over 20 years and have a black belt in Kenpo Karate. Things slowed for me in 2008 and now I just try to keep up the skills and teach family and friends. How about you?

I've dabbled in multiple disciplines since I was young, but really ended up sticking with muay thai after trying it out about 4 years ago. Now I train muay thai and bjj. My 6 year old just got her blue belt in Tang Soo Do and started competing this season. She is on the comp team and next Saturday will be her first point sparring comp, so we are pretty excited. She has been competing in traditional and creative form to get a taste of the environment. So far, it has been one of the best things we could have ever done.

Fantastic! Proud Dad, I can tell. My 25 year old Navy son practiced for many years with me. I attribute the martial arts partly to the man he is today! Be proud brother for passing the torch!

twice a week injections work best for me but i am at 200mg per week, i see where some guys prefer once a week to get that boost instead of a nice steady ride...agreed on the preg and dhea, i just use a couple pumps of dermacrine everyday-really like the energizing effect it gives. my estrogen also stays in a good place just a little above middle range, but i too like the effects of otc ai's and have been a fan of formestane even long before trt.

the V.A sends me an injection kit with my test...this includes a 18g for drawing and 21g for injecting and alcohol pads. the larger gauge needle for drawing is nice, takes forever with the smaller one. always use the alcohol pad before injecting.
