  1. I would say cage press caused those doms. I've never done them but they look like the might have an overhead shrug type affect.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. I dont really do any direct trap work so these might become a bigger part in my shoulder days.

If you're leaning in at the top, they'll definitely hit the traps. You could add partials out of the top (while leaning in) to really smoke them. If I plan on doing direct trap work that week, I'll press straight up without ducking my head forward.

I love both of those meats. Never considered combining them. Maybe a little bacon in the mix???

you really dint just say that

fyi tho - I mix & match meats/sources, in almost every single meal I eat, 6x daily

I'm not a fan of mixing my ground venison with pork to make it stick together when I make burgers. The bison did very well. And yes. I added bacon.

I've used egg before (maybe add just a bit of oats & dried onion if it's too wet/egg-y). The last deer I took to get processed, they went ahead & added 15% ground beef to the mix - I didnt ask for it, but they turned out to be excellent - just a patty on the grill & they taste great!

I like a little egg, olive oil and bread crumbs (very small amount)

Ive actually never really had a problem with it falling apart. If im using the charcoal grill I just make sure not to flip it before its ready. And on the george its obviously much easier lol

I've done that in the past. But I like my burgers on a bun, bread+oats/breadcrumbs= too many carbs

Try making them thinner but bigger around. If I try to make them too thick they crumble but if I thin them out I never have a problem

    try pre-cut aluminum foil pieces?
I prefer grilling on straight grill bars, but will use foil for fish for just this reason

Fair enough. Though mixing with bison helped it stick and was quite tasty. I'll definitely try the foil when I start dieting down in a few weeks.

I'm on my way to camp to hang cams and shoot 3d. Shot some blocks yesterday and exercised the ol Remington 700 a bit. I'm running low on venison. Can't wait till October

I've never been hunting. ... my grandparents own about a 1000 acres in the Texas Hill Country with what is apparently some of the best hunting in the country but I've still never been. Just doesn't seem fair. Maybe next year I'll go Rambo..... hang from a tree with a knife and wait for a deer to come along, drop down and stab.

no surprise to me that dan is a hunter tho - he's the epitome of a country boy (do not confuse with hillbilly - big difference there)
