Ok thanks for the feedback guys. Will take this into consideration, much appreciated
Cube Method W5 ME Squats
Romanian Deadlift, Toes elevated
^SS w/ DB Lunges
Banded GMs, doubled orange (light)
Well I did more than I was supposed to with squats. I knew I had it in me and I felt great. Zero issues with getting my knees and hips straight. I just had to think "stand tall" and that did the trick. 470 is a double rep PR for me.
I wore the 2.5 Elite black/white knee wraps I got in today. It felt so much better being able to cross wrap instead of wrapping bottom up. They ****ing hurt but had awesome rebound. I won't be able to use a stronger wrap by myself though. My APT wraps should be in this afternoon.
My gym just got a Texas power bar deadlift bar so I look forward to it.
I'm working on the videos. Having a one year old fills your phone up with pictures. It wouldn't let any video save. I'm fairly sure once I delete some pics/vids the videos I took should appear.
Post workout- Cheesecake Factory.
Tomorrow- Body Day
Congrats on the pr .. 470 is somewhere I'd like to b at someday lol.. Keep beasting it guy!
Thanks. Really it's only a PR because I've never applied any doubles beyond 465 ever. I'll take it though
I imagine APA will have decent bars for competition?
APT wraps just came in. They already feel broken in and I can get a good stretch from them. I gave my knee a quick wrap and it was easy as hell and I could get it even tighter than the EFS wrap. As of now it feels better than EFS. I'll see how it is with weight on my back in a week.
Cube Method W5 Body Day
Chest Supported Machine Row
+ attached orange short band
DB Lateral Raise/Standing Cambered Bar Curls
Mini band external/internal rotations and pull aparts.
Koklov presses are ****ing hard.
Monday begins my week 6. After that I'll have one more 3 week cycle and then a week after I'll compete. I need to start thinking about my openers now.
Cube Method W6 Deadlift-Reps
1/2" Deficit Deadlift
(lack of material besides plates to make a deficit today)
4" Block Pull
Elevated Stiff Legged Deadlifts
Fall-on-my-face DB Split Squat (Bulgarian Split)
40x10x3 each leg
I kind of dragged ass a bit today but it was still a solid session. Next week will be my last scheduled heavy pull before my meet. Any advice or ideas on practicing openers and training leading up to my meet is appreciated. I'm following Brandon Lilly's Facebook group to see what other people are doing. ME Bench tomorrow. BW is at 217 and am looking to stay around this.
Cube Method W6 ME Bench
CG Floor Press
Tate Press/Standing DB Press
I widened up my grip. The bar ring was between my ring and little fingers. Along with the decreased ROM, it felt more comfortable overall. Thoughts on grip width?
I like to go as wide as my shoulders will allow. I did a lot of nice benching with my middle finger on the rings before my shoulders didn't appreciate the strain.
ive been using a wide grip for a while but recently switched to a closer grip due to the increase of lat activation.. which also seemed to add power to my lift.. not exactly sure, but feels like it did, i guess from the spring action it gives as it lays on it.. really helps
Cube Method W6 DE Squats
Reverse Band, Orange
Cambered Bar GMs-PR
Cable Crunches/DB Side Bends
Eh I used too much weight for DE. Lesson learned. I had trouble getting the bar comfortable on my back today for some reason. I haven't slept how I should the last few days but it's unpreventable sometimes. Smashed GMs today though. Sissy squats for the first time. I sat back in it and kept tension on my quads the whole time and it rocked my hamstrings and quads.
I like that! TDS is who made my power rack. Going to look for that unit.
Always open light. It’s not what you open with, it’s what you finish with. Louie Simmons
Dude, I almost ate it many times on my one dynamic free squat session. How'd you weight the sissy squats?
