  2. Tom, awesome numbers on your overhead 531. Ten reps of strict military at 165 is a feat for sure. Any updates on weight? Still packing on the mass and leaning out?

    Toughchick, your moniker says it all. It's great to see your optimism and determination even in the face of injury. I hope you have a quick recovery.

    Nice my suggestion would be to take as directed pretty much. On the nights you carb back load take 1 Licogenix with your meals.

    Thanks man, not bad considering when I used to do them I would ALWAYS pinch a nerve in my neck.
    I havent checked it in about a week, but I am probably right around 240. So still adding some mass. I think to really drop some fat I will have to do Carb Nite Solution. I just gain mass so easily. Right now it isnt a problem though. The powerlifting meet isnt for another 3 months almost. So I have time to tweak.

    Ya I have a doughy center though haha. But I will say even though I have gained weight my belt fits better. Using the 4th notch now. When I was 250ish the 2nd one was beginning to be tough. I am definitely gaining muscle for sure. Everything is growing even my arms.

  6. Alright a quick rundown of the workout.

    Since I was lifting solo didnt do my usual ELECT deadlifts. Just did 6 sets of 3 rep speed pulls. Starting with 365 and adding 20 pounds each time.
    ELECT BB row with underhand grip done with proper %s this time.

    Close grip lat pulldowns with fat gripz start heavy and lighten weight.
    Kroc rows 2 sets of 10 with light/mod weight and then go full bore with 100 for 23 reps.

    ELECT shrugs on a cable machine... never gain. Shrugs are becoming a pain in the ass. Hard to find a good way to do ELECT shrugs.
    ELECT high cable pulley row, might have muscled it a bit much.
    Bent over DB reverse fly with fat gripz 40s for 3 sets of 10 reps

    Decided to change up the flat DB press. Keep seeing this crap about 4X in the AM articles. Basically(what I remember haha), use a weight you can do 15 reps with, but only do 10 reps resting 30 seconds between sets. Do this for 3 sets, and on the 4th set do as many reps as possible. I did 75s for 12 reps on my X set.

    Alright a little about what I ate for my carb back load. Well this is my second meal. I had sausage cooked in a little butter(1/2 tablespoon) with 4 eggs(cooked in the sausage grease) over jasmine rice with cheese on top. Now I am about to have an apple fritter with Washington apple pie ice cream.

    Haha I dont actually really make anything. The apple fritter was already made and so was the ice cream. Just a nice little combo I put together. Ended up waiting to eat it a while. So the ice cream melted a lot and was more of a soup. Not the worst thing that could have happened.

    Thinking about lifting this weekend. Not quite sure when though. Might end up being tomorrow. Going to the movies with Rachel at 4:15. Then later supposed to hang out with Brittney sometime(but not too late) haha.

    Oh and the bodybuilder I used to lift with won his competition. All I have to say is DAMN!

  9. Went and saw Battleship with Rachel. She leaves for Costa Rica tonight(10 days). Ended up not seeing Brittney though. Her friend ended up in the hospital, but she is ok.

    Workout today was a simple 531 squat boring but big. It was the week 3 workout 75% for 5, 85% for 3, 95% for max reps. Knees have been feeling a bit off lately. So I thought it might be a good idea to do 5 minutes of light warm up cardio. Totally forgot about it till my before my 85% set haha. Knees didnt really give me any issues today.

    Alright now for the actual workout. Of course the first 2 sets didnt give me any issues(310 for 5 and 350 for 3). My big set was 390. Ended up getting 9 reps, and I dont think a 10th would have been smart haha. I made a VERY small improvement on my estimated max... not even 1.4 pounds haha. But this is a huge improvement when you consider I started this because I could only do 405 for 3 reps(445 estimate, which I proved to be accurate haha).

    After that comes the boring but big part. 5 sets of 10 reps with 205 beltless. I saw some stuff on the bar while I was lifting. Didnt really think about what it could be. When I got in the shower I found out what it was. My sun burn started to peel.

    Then it was time for 5 sets of 10 with lying leg curls. Going to try and add 5 pounds each month.

    Tonight will be my last carb back load for a week. Going to do the detox diet(this months issue of Flex). It is pretty simple, and should trim a little fat in the process. Ok had to check the calender but I can do the full program before the powerlifting meet on October 5th.

    I have to reread it. It is in this months issue of Flex magazine. It is written by John Kiefer. The article is pretty short. Plan on going to the bookstore today.

    Like I said I am just going to go in a book store and read the magazine. I dont read fitness magazines. So I have no clue how or if you can find them online.

    The article is more about why the detox is beneficial, and how it helps. Not too much about what it is. Because honestly it is pretty simple.

  15. Cooking some ribs right now. Usually use chicken broth and then Asian it up a bit. Didnt have the chicken broth so I decided to try something different. Had some worcestershire sauce so I added a bit of that. Plus some apple cider vinger. Then threw in a stick of cinnamon. Haha I will let you know how it turns out.

    Didnt get a chance to revisit the detox diet today. Thinking I will do that and get a haircut tomorrow. Probably the longest it has ever been.

    Since I will be doing ultra low carbs I might dial back my workouts a bit. Maybe take a few things out here and there. Also think I will hold off on the 531 squat workouts while doing the detox diet. Figure the 4 workouts a week will be enough of a beat down while ULC.

    Ya thanks for the invite... douche haha. I checked it out a few days ago. I wasnt sure if I was that far behind or it moved that fast haha. I know my log has basically been me yacking to myself. I figured a log where a guy ate all this "bad" food, but got leaner and stronger would get more of a following. Oh you know just making steroid like gains while being all natty thats all haha.

    So I dont want to go into too much detail about the workouts, but I will talk about it some.

    The workout goes in phases. I will do this workout for 4 weeks or so. Thinking this would be the time to do the extra week I have.

    The warm up was a bit different. Kind of hard to judge what weight I should use. Probably ended up going a bit too heavy. Started sweating a lot.
    Next was incline DB press. Ramped up the weight since I hadnt done these in a while. Went too light so now I know.
    Declinde BB was next. Again wasnt sure about the weight so I ramped up. Found the good weight for me. Finished it off with a set of pause press than some negatives. Glad my spotter suggested I rethink my choice of weights haha. I got my reps ok, but when it came for the negatives it was a bit hard for him haha. Honestly I am surprised he didnt drop the bar on my face. When I from the decline I see 2 girls I am aware of. 1 of them is wearing an itty bitty tank top and some bike shorts. Plenty of girls in there on Monday.
    Did a different variation of flyes. Had a decent weight might have been able to go heavier though.
    Then a set of rows.
    Had to wait a little bit to line things up but I did some hammer curls.
    Then something with a pulldown machine. Had to try and figure the weight out haha.
    To top it off was something for core...
    Decided I wanted to do biceps.
    Close grip lat pulldowns ELECT
    BB curls ELECT
    3 sets of rope tricep ext
