  1. DE pulls in gear I find to be beneficial for me as the groove and foot positioning is different than raw. DE squats in gear are rough because you have to fight the weight far more.

  2. Now that you've locked form in, I do think now is a good time to drop de and let yourself recover.

    I do my de pulls in single briefs, may just go to suit straps down with a tad more weight. Thoughts?

    That's what I do. Straps down in my suit. I don't pull heavy too often these days.

    At this point, I would just drop it. As we get closer to meet day, intensity up, volume down.

    I somewhat cycle it, but pulls are something that I have to go by feel on that specific day. I go by my speed starting at 405. If it's moving well, then I'll add some more weight. If not, I'm staying there are working the groove.

  13. Also im curious if anyone has seen direct carryover from de benching?

    It helps me keep my form on track and remember to lowrr the bar with some speed. But it seems i still miss weights bc of my shoulders (raw that is), and my bench goes up when my oh work goes up as my tris are not a limiting factor.

    I like to bench twice a week, my bench responds best to that, but I always have to push delts too.

    I can't say I've ever gotten any direct carryover from DE bench, but definitely get carryover from OHP.

    Considering dropping de bench to see if i can increase my recovery and decrease work load. Or wait till after the meet?

    If you're feeling beat up and need to lessen your volume, then drop it for at least a few weeks. Your technique is fantastic and you won't lose anything by backing off for a short period of time.

    Well doing the overload work in the slingshot is whats beating me up, i am just trying to make my training as economical as possible. So if replacing de bench with oh would do that i might try it.

  20. After much reading ive realized why i never got the carryover i wanted from de work, my percents were all off base. I need about a 75-85% top weight when doing it. I was never that high. I understand squats you use a set of briefs that allows this to be done. But for bench what percents are used? Off raw or geared ect?

    Well squat is
    Gear: 50/55/60
    Raw: 75/80/85
    I think bench is
    Gear: 40-50%
    Raw: 60-70%
    And deadlift is
    50-70% for either
    I could be wrong

  23. 10/25/14-de bench
    De bench w/ chains
    185+80lbs chainx8x3, 4 cg and 4 comp grip. Would have done more bar weight but one i suck at cg and two i couldnt unrack 270-280 top weight alone lol. But felt good to use some heavier weight, 75% raw max at top weight 50% geared max at top weight. Set a timer and kept rest to 1min and gave each set all i had.

    Notes: ive been super tired the last few days and i cant figure out why, ive also had mild headaches too. Im on 500mg test, just upped from 250mg 10 days ago, also on 20mg ol osta. I test ran the ol osta before with no issues for a week. Do you guys think its just over training? Bp? I had it read on a wrist one at class and came back 140/90 but ive read those are inaccurate. If this keeps up im not sure what to do honestly. I thought it was lack of sleep before as i had two 4 hr nights last week but the last 3 nights were all 8-9 hrs. Any imput welcomed here as i dont want this to become an issue.

    Avg cals, had a few low days due to lack of sleep and lose of appitite. But all is back on track now same with water. 3500-4000 a day 250/400-450/100-150

  29. I'm sure you know but just incase you don't you could add in some Hawthorne berry or celery seed to help some with BP cheap. Could even just be stress.

    Edit: could just be training stress too. Mike Tuscherer's TRAC system uses BP as one of the measuring points for training stress levels.

    Louis simmions does also. I figured this was mostly training related and why i stripped my programing to the bare essentials and added conditioning/gpp so i can get healthier. Any suggestions for hawthorn berries or celery seed?

    Not positive on a "best" one to use, but I think if trying it out just go with a house brand or now or something just to try cheap. It's inexpensive stuff.

    275x5, wasnt to bad, could have kept.going but called it to let my cns recover.
    Db complex

    Incline w/ pause-65x8
    Dips-bwx16
    Wide grip pullups
    Bwx10/8/7/6/5
    Unilateral mini band pushdowns
    100 total reps, elbows are getting achy so im backing off all the extensions for now
    Mini band pullapart complex w/ extra overhand/underhand set at end
    2 sets 10 reps each way
    Gpp: 5min of front raises, rear raises, flys, pullovers, curls, tri ext 10 reps each way.
    Notes: i really like how the sled hits my delts and feel better doing something even if its just 5min. Headaches still present and weight is down 3lbs so its not bloat related. Also still tired. Overall impressed with cg bench and should push it in the off season.

    Notes: rough start but managed to pull myself together form wise and hit my numbers. Easiest and best squat of the training cycle so far. Skipped gpp as i was training for 3 hrs when i finished all my work and just wanted to rest. Pr on reverse hypers.

    Very tight but fits like a glove. Ginny did an awesome job. Bloated, not bloated, it seems to perform the same each time. I havent pushed a huge bloat for a squat day yet bc it fits so well without it.

    I've debated on pinching the hips on my briefs, but don't want it too tight since they start to collapse my knees out of the hole when they're too tight.

    I just gave my measurements to ginny and said to make it fit like a glove. Got it back and works like a charm. Only issue ull have if you pinch the hips is it might not get over your legs, so id split the front and have velcro put on so you can get it on and tighten back up.

    I can always blow up the legs with a basketball. I've had to do it with my shirt and DL suit already.

    Id be concerned with the hips not getting over my legs together, thats the hardest part of tight gear for me.
