    MWB's Ongoing Life Log

Well, if I've learned anything, it's that I am more accountable when I keep a log running. This will also give me an adequate place to note dates of any specific changes I make so I can keep track of it (easier than writing it in a journal for me). I'll still update any other threads I have out with appropriate information as I see fit, but I plan to keep this thread going for the long haul. Whenever I run sponsored logs, they'll be separate, too, but this will always be where I come to. I may update training and stuff, but this is more to just keep tabs on what's going on in my life.

    10-19-11 / Day 1

This morning I weighed in at 266 lbs. That's not a number I'm proud of, happy with, nor would I like to share. However, me writing it down keeps me accountable. The reason it says "Day 1" isn't because this is the first day I started this log. It's because it's the first day of me getting my life back. I've been attempting to do this for quite some time, but I've also had a pity party for myself and the time for that has passed.

With everything I've been dealing with, I've drastically cut down the amount of days I've lifted. Along with that, my diet has been worse than a kid with a yo-yo. I'd go through phases of eating spotless and then binging like crazy because I don't see any results (which shouldn't be shocking to me anymore since I've dealt with this for so long, but regardless, I let it take a toll on me).

So, will I see any positive results/benefits from getting back on track? Hopefully, but I'm also not holding my breath. However, I have to get back to living the way I was. My whole plan was to relax, live like a "normal" person for a while and once I got fixed, just go into beast mode and shred up. Seeing as how I'm nearly 270 pounds, now, that needs to stop. It's evident that it's taking longer to fix this than I'd planned and the fact that I can barely fit into most of the pants I own is enough of a reason.

I've been following IF, for the most part, lately just because it's easier for me. My appetite has been absolutely terrible, so that's been a reason for it, too (just haven't been hungry). However, in a thread on meal frequency in Dr. Houser's sub-forum, it was brought up that fasting is not a good solution for someone with a dysfunctional thyroid. So, that being said, has pushed me back into following the eating every 3 hours or so style, starting today.

My mom sent me a link to a news story yesterday. I read it and instantly felt enraged. Search for "fit2fat2fit" and tell me what you think. A (part-time) personal trainer has decided to stop working out entirely for 6 months and eat "average" foods in an attempt to get completely out of shape and then show people it's possible to get back into shape "easily" in the next 6 months. His idea is to show his clients that he has done what they want to do. In theory, I think it sounds like a valiant idea. However, after spending more than 2 seconds thinking about it, it just pisses me off. No one who has great health should squander it on purpose or to prove a point. I guess all doctors should infect themselves with the viruses and diseases they cure so they can tell their patients, "Don't worry. I've been there." It's just asinine. To top it off, he has a wife and 2 kids. He said that people live obese for years so he isn't worried about the health issues. We're not all created equally, though (hmm, I seem to know a thing or two about this). Just because 99% of people can live that way for years doesn't mean this guy won't keel over and die from an overnight heart attack. And then you're left with a widow and 2 fatherless kids. I don't know. To me it just seems selfish and it doesn't really prove anything.

Back to me, though. This log is not a place for pity, for anyone to say they're sorry for me or anything else. It is simply a place for me to note what's going on and hopefully make progress.

I'm happy to answer any questions anyone has; whether you're experienced and just want to chat or if you're new to bodybuilding and have general questions. I don't know the knowledge that a lot of the guys on here do (at a chemical level), but despite being a fatty at the moment, I do have a lot of training and nutrition knowledge that I've learned over the years that has been successfully implemented in helping others.

Today is the first day of my new life.

lol no doubt, buddy. You know I'd go nuts if we didn't talk daily.

I've got some things I've got to take care of and really get in order so I can hopefully move up closer in the next month and a half. Whenever that happens, we're having a PAP sleepover! lol

Yeah, working a career job and trying to do classes at the same time isn't fun. Just take it from me and get them done ASAP.

As for the winter, I'm actually hoping to get back up to IL in the next couple months. There will be a lot of praying, but I've got one position in particular I'm gunning for.

    Thanks, buddy.

I was really hoping to have some RickRock-results myself from some IF and a nice little cycle, haha, but it appears that won't be the ideal way of going about it.

Getting back to eating every few hours is ridiculously hard, actually. It's like forcing myself to eat breakfast all over again (never ate breakfast until college and it was a process; I always felt sick whenever I'd eat in the mornings).

From everything I've read that you've tried and went through, I'm not surprised IF doesn't help your weight loss. It doesn't seem like anything does. Hope things turn around bro

    Prayers are always appreciated

And it's not a matter of if I come back up; it's just a matter of when -- hopefully soon. We'll definitely get in touch and train or I can be a ringer for your softball team for a day, haha.

Thanks, Rick. On the bright side, I've got some redbirds to root for, at least

I've been streaming a StL radio station today and actually heard this:

    I love it.

So far today, my diet has looked like this:

    7:30 AM - T3 dose
8:30 AM - scoop of protein
11:00 AM - scoop of protein
12:30 PM - can of chicken

The protein is just a huge bag of sample packs I've collected over the past 2 years. I'd saved all of them with the intent of taking them with me whenever I travel. However, I'm sick of stockpiling things, so I'm just burning through all of them and it was also easier to bring them and a shaker to work to leave here.

So, I've taken in about 100g of protein, give or take and little else. I'm actually pretty sure I'm going to go back to a keto diet, solely for the fact that it was the last thing that worked for me. I don't like it, particularly, and I don't think people should have to employ them, but whatever I'm going through is unique to say the least. I'm worried about insulin resistance and I haven't been using Need2Slin or anything else for the past several months. I love those products, but I also don't think one should fear eating a meal with carbohydrates in it without a repartitioner. I'll update as I can, but that's what's on my mind at the moment.

    Day 5:

    262 lbs (-4)

I'm not holding my breath at this point, as I've seen this before. I'll manage to lose a couple pounds (which is often done from glycogen depletion) and then it starts crawling back up. However, it's promising. Let's see where we can go from here.

I hit a heavy back session yesterday and then got stuck helping a friend move a dryer out of the basement, a different one down (both old and ridiculously heavy) and then a huge deep freeze out that was beyond awful.

    Heavy arms session tomorrow night.

Yeh man, going low Carb will deplete the glycogen and drop that water weight down for sure. After a low Carb burn day my weight will be down a couple lbs but will bounce back after a good build day. Yours is a little more than that though, so who knows maybe there is some weight loss other than the water and glycogen.

On another note, we must interrupt your regularly scheduled Midwest Beast weight chronicles to bring you RickRock's next chapter...THE BULK!!

    RickRock's gettin' DIESEL with Dieselbolan/Epi-strong and RS-Transaderm!!

Would love for you to join bro!

    lol

I know the feeling, man. And I don't enjoy it.

This will be where I consistently post and keep tabs on things for the long haul. All previous threads will only receive attention when necessary/applicable. In particular, the mystery thread will be updated regularly as I progress just to allow others to still share insight to that story as well as for me to provide answers as I get them.

    - Doc's office called today and said latest labs came back "normal." He won't be able to sign off on them to be released to me til tomorrow. I'll make updates if there are any worth mentioning after looking at them.

    - Today, I'm starting back on a keto diet. At the very least, hopefully this will help if anything is insulin related. I don't like the idea of not taking in carbs regularly, but whatever. If 100mcg of T3/day didn't eat away muscle, then surely this won't. My carbs will be from 20-30 post workout from Muscle Replenisher, 2tbsp of psyllium husk fiber/day and other minimals from vegetables. Refeeds will be done 2x/week as my final meal of the day. In the past I hit about 150g carbs, so I'll probably hit about the same. It will be clean and preceded by Need2Slin.

    - I'm currently logging Anabolic Ignite + Anabolic Competition for MF over at MM.

    Think that's it.

Man... why you gotta be on another forum too?? Nah j/k I know many members are on other forums a lot as well... I for one mostly stay here lol. Maybe Ill have to head on over there too to check out what other products reviews I might be missing out on.Many of the forums now days you have to be a member just to view more than like a few posts. I love reading logs lol.
Glad your levels came back "normal". Im not sure I would be able to handle that... lol. I WANT to find whats wrong . I know you do too, so I hope you are not taking it too bad. Just get back on a good diet, workouts 2-3 times a week, get some sun, and move around. Do you have gmail? Or perhaps dropbox? I will try to send you some info I have that might help out. NOthing crazy, just an ebook

Haha the log just happened as a good opportunity over there. This is my home and what I do outside of AM is pretty minimal, but it was a shot at a really top tier stim-free pre and intra-workout. I just mentioned it in case anyone wants to follow, but it'll be nothing insane since they're just staple supplements.

I'll be interested to interpret the actual results, myself, versus just hearing "everything is normal." It sucks, because I, like you, want to find the source and correct it, but I'm hoping to move soon and I'm planning to go full force with a specialist whenever that happens. In the meantime, I'll keep getting him to sign off on blood work and ruling things out.

I do have gmail; drop me a PM sometime here and we'll chat, buddy.
