    Chicken Breasts

Ok...me and my mother went out to get some chicken breasts. I wanted to buy a bag of boneless, skinless chicken breasts. But, my mother said it was too expensive so she said to buy just a pack of fryer chicken breasts with bone and skin. I told her that it would have different nutritional values even if we took out the bone and skin but she disagreed. Is she right? Is there some way where I can find the amount of calories, protein, and carbs in this chicken without having to buy a bag with the nutrition label on it?

my understanding has always been that 1oz of lean turkey or chicken is about 5 or 6 grams of protein, and an oz would roughly be the size of a golfball.

so theres one way to check out NV

You should find the nutritional breakdown for it here:

The macronutrient breakdown is going to be the same if you peel the skin off. If you don't, I believe the skin adds some extra fat and a little bit of protein...

    Just go to:

    http://www.calorieking.com/

You can search ANY food for a complete breakdown on it with or without additives, etc. And, they also show you the breakdown for such foods cooked and sold at restaurants.

    Hope this helps.

You could also buy a "Food Counts" book. It has every type of food in there.

    Peace

    You're most welcome!

I may not have the time to get here often, but I really do try to bring something useful to anything I post when I can.
