    Timing your meals...

Hi everyone, this is just a very basic question but I'm not as experienced in weight loss as I'd like to be and I'm just starting my weight loss journey.

Is the amount of time between meals is important? I was told between 2 1/2 to 3 hours between meals? Would it make a massive difference if meals were outside those suggested times? Like I said I'm very new to this and any help would be greatly appreciated

no. but for some people, its easier to control hunger when you eat a bunch of tiny meals spaced out correctly. as opposed to going 8 hours without food and gorging on a humongous dinner and dessert because of how hungry you are

and fasting for a long time can also cause headaches and irritability which would make hunger even harder to control

Meal timing is irrelevant to body composition. Eat when you are hungry or need energy. I personally fell better eating several smaller meals throughout the day versus 3 big ones. See what works for you and your schedule.

I'm more of a believer in overall calorie and macronutrient goals. This method has worked for me and until the point where it doesn't I won't change. I go up to five hours without eating due to the nature of my job and it hasnt had any negative effects on body composition.

I just eat when I am hungry. Usually go 6 hours from my preworkout meal to my post workout meal.

People often mistake meal frequency for meal timing; the two are not the same. Meal timing has its importance whereas meal frequency is overplayed.
