Citric Acid and Ketosis

  1. Citric Acid and Ketosis

    Hello Guys

I read some articles about ketosis and found this:

    Citric acid and aspertame

In all likelihood, problems with diet soda relate to one of these two compounds, both of which are used as artifical sweeteners in diet producs. Citric acid may inhibit ketosis and diet sodas containing citric acid or apertame are not allowed for epileptic children on a ketogenic diet(14). However, there is some debate over this point(15). Possibly citric acid might affect ketosis by effecting liver motabolism, primarily the Krebs cycle. Some individuals report that citric acid prevents them from entering ketosis but does not affect ketosis once it has been established. One study, examining very low-calorie diets, found that the consumption of citric acid inhibited ketosis and increased appetite in many individuals(16). Ultimately, individuals will have to determine for themselves whether citric acid or aspertame has any effect on ketosis, appetite or fatloss on a ketogenic diet.

  4. Yesterday i decided not use my "fiber drink" i will obtain some fiber from nuts and vegies maybe not is 30g a day but this will help me anyway i will update the results later but if someone has similar experience please put here.

    Thanks guys!

  5. Maybe just go with ground Flax seed. It's a good one for fiber. You can get in bulk, and doesn't seem to break the bank too much.

  6. Thanks for posting this up!

  7. I found the trouble instead of using a "tablespoon" like instructions says i was using a scoop of another product and this double the dose and i use (3 scoops is 6 times the dose) but now i will use a simple tablespoon so is true guys to much of this will out of Ketosis in 1,2,3...

  8. The generic pharmacy brand has sucrose which is regular table sugar..I would not use it at all on a no carb diet.

Throw some Flax Seed into a low-cab protein shake. One brand I use of protein doesn't put sugar in at all they use Stevia to sweeten.
