    Really good article. I've always wondered why the Canada Food Guide advocates 50+ % of calorie intake from carbs. I mean, how do they determine that number? Yes there are "scientists" who consult on the issue, but where do *they* get their figures from? All they state is "good health" or "reduced risk of cardiovascular disease", but, what about those of us who are healthy and have very little risk of heart attack? OTOH, the bodybuilding community has come to a consensus that macro breakdown should be roughly 40/40/20 to promote optimal health (which is essential for growth), and that consensus has been reached over a period of a few decades by people exploring theories, testing them out, and sharing their results for others to test. In other words, real science. Which, needless to say, works for me.
