    Im trying to understand how 30 cals is statistically significant? I understand that people with a lower bf % require a lower deficit to continue to reduce body fat but for an obese person whether they reduce theyre calories by 88 or 58 isnt going to fix theyre problem.

    The reason for rising obesity is a corresponding drop in food prices. In the 70's food was a lot more expensive, I know, I was a kid back then and food was a whole different issue to what it is today.
