Can I get a Amen!?
Possibly the best thing I've read all day/ week/ year.
Great article. Some of the guys at my gym, tell me I'm going to screw up my CNS, because I'll go for an hour or 2, but those are the days I feel great and just feel like pushing it hard. They got it in my head so now I've cut my workouts down to like 45 mins but don't feel as good.
Whats wong with occasional night out to get plastered?
I thought he was going to recommend celibacy as well.
But seriously, 4-5 days per week only? Depends on the workout. Some folks, like me, break out legs to a separate day so it is 3on 1off and repeat.
1gram protein per lb body weight? Must be for super advanced types. I thought it varied dependent on how advanced the specific athlete is in their training.
I disagree with the theories on no such thing as over training. It's totally individual. I know I can over train. Sometime if i go to hard on leg day I've been able to eat so substantial amount of food to help my legs recover. Other times it doesn't not matter. I can't sleep and just feel like ****. Strength will be off. Everything feels off. So I personally don't agree with those theories
"get your heavy on" "scurred".....this is the douchiest thing I've read in a long time, but to each their own.
"Overtraining is a myth", said no strength coach ever
1 gram of protein isn't advanced whatsoever. I found when I was trying to gain weight that at least a gram and half was good, if not more most days.
What the article should have distinguished was the difference between overreaching and overtraining. Overreaching amps up the SAID principle. It should only be used periodically though. Constantly overreaching leads to overtraining. This leads to problems. I agree this is all dependent on the individual though.
