Depending on where you get your statistics from. I read an article in a magazine, where a florida school tested Full Sqats vs. Leg Press, and the activation was almost equal. They even used three different classes of people. Trained and experianced, Trained for 12 months, Untrained groups. Although they did say that of the two excersises, full squats were more detrimental to knee health over time, esp. in heavy weight ranges and with people who were not properly hydrated at every lifting session.
