Both -- this is carb backloading. VLC until late afternoon workout. Then carbs are alowed. So instead of a complete fast, you eat 800-1,000 kcal of high fat, moderate protein during the first part of the day.
Begin my cut next week and will be implementing this protocol. Fast for 16 hours, break the fast with high protein and fat meal, then east another protein and 30g carb meal at 18 hours, followed by training and then a big meal post-workout. I will also be using Decimate and ECA during the fast.
I am on day 4 of a hybrid intermittent fasting/cyclic ketogenic diet, do far so good.
IF is very effective, maintain LBM while losing fat.
