    I personally wouldn't even go near a smith machine when it comes to shoulder press. Your shoulders are the weakest joint in the body and aren't made to work in exact unison. So I feel the smith machine would just put you at a higher risk of injury. When it comes to the shoulder press I prefer mainly using dumbbells, you have the least risk of injury and with a great way hitting all those stabilizer muscles.
