Isn't it a sad situation that the word "****tail", in #5, got censored?

There's a lot of handwaving in this article. For what it's worth I go with cottage cheese preWO, but that's really only due to convenience and my personal preference with meal timing more than anything.

I do agree with everything except the fasted workout statement. For a person not
Accustomed to it:.. Then yes performance will be affected. But if your like me and follow the lean gains protocol.... Fasted training is 2nd nature.... Burns tons of fat and keeps me lean. Also.... Protein synthesis signaling enzymes are more activated in a fasted training state... "CPK phosphase" dnt quote me on the exact enzyme.... But you get the point!

I go a number of hours without food ie 4 before a workout. Doesn't seem to negatively effect me.

I usually have a big lunch around 1 then workout around 4 or 5 gives plenty of time for food to digest before the workout. Weekends I work out in the morning so I like to have supersport vanilla cream protein mixed in Orange juice then lift 45 to an hour after and its worked out pretty great!

Fresh raw eggs contains no salmonella. It is only when close to room temperature and a period of time is reached before it is a concern. Not saying its wise pre. But jus saying

    My preworkout meal:

2 big ass tablespoons of Greek yogurt
    1 1/2 scoops of whey
    1 cup of skim milk
    1 cup ground, uncooked oatmeal
Enough water to make it not so thick

I attack this stuff with a blender and drink it about an hour before workout. Simple and sweet. My workouts seem to really suffer when I don't have it.

Fasted or gtfo in my books, I don't see how eating so close to lifting is ever a good idea. Even an hour seems too close to me for biological purposes.

being involved in sports my whole life I have grown used to eating pretty close to performing/working out. I eat eggs probably 2 hrs before I workout and it has never had any negative effect on me.

I think fasted with bcaa's is best.

I agree with the energy drink statement but it is a lil odd since most preworkout supps (no xplode, superpump, etc) have a ton of caffeine and other stims, some have sugar/carbs as well.

Ive tried the preworkout meal but it seems to just sit in my guts and makes it hard to give 100%.

    Like my eggs cooked though!

Bear in mind, guys, that the arguments this guy is making is based on nothing but his opinion.

I can't tell you the number of times I've gone to the gym less than an hour after eating a baconator without any sort of interference.

Sadly this is true for a lot of fitness "expert's" articles.

Nothing wrong with training fasted. My pumps are better. If you want an energy boost sure grab a banana but it won't kill your workout. Nothing wrong with raw eggs either as medical420 mentioned- as long as your storing then properly.

I remember reading somewhere about protein in fully cooked eggs is 50% more bioavailable ready to use by the body than raw eggs.

You are correct. I stopped for that reason. I also miss making veggie omlettes.
