Recent studies show that excessive protein increases IGF1 which stimulates cell production. Fasting and low calorie/protein diets can dramtically reduce IGF1 levels, thus allowing the body to repair cells instead of producing more. Just my two cents.

We are definitely a long way from the answer. Wouldn't this equate to less energy expenditure? Living more of a sedentary and much more uncomfortable lifestyle?
