This is a method I used when I first started exercising (was bed-ridden for most of my adolescent years) to learn to run 3 miles in under 20 minutes, not astounding but not bad, either. Not quite a breathing ladder for beyond obvious reasons (you don't ever stop moving when you run, defeats the purpose sort of), but you regulate your pace with your breathing such that you slow down before you ever forcibly breathe through your mouth while always forcing yourself to never breathe through your mouth (always nose). Pretty easy to make progress this way. Also, I do want to start kettlebell swings but I need to learn how to do them properly.
