    Probably the most useful of these silly movements is the suitcase one. I should try that. I imagine it helps one activate the hip abductors to really power through the pull. Also doing so helps load the quads, which further helps drive the bar up since the quads are such a strong muscle group.

    I deadlift in the 200lb range for reps. When I started doing 5 3 1 n powerlifting type programs... My strength certainly went up, hitting all kinds of pr's, but I lost the effectiveness of the movement.. I use deaslifts to strengthen my lower back and improve my posture. If I miss even one week of dl, my lower back hurts tremendously and I begin to slouch n get hunch backed! Dl keeps me walking tall and strong and confident.. A good strength endurance pyramid of 15, 12, 8, 6, 4, 2 or 1, 15 is perfect for MY body.
