Ive heard from a couple of different places that depending on how long you let it steep green tea can contain more caffeine per 8 oz cup than a trouble cup of coffee. Is this true

Sorry I should specify. The figure I heard was somewhere in the neighborhood of like 150mg-200mg more than coffee.

I think you may have it backwards. Green tea from my knowledge, if steeped properly, contains just under a 1/3 of the caffeine of your average cup of coffee.
